Here you go, C-SSRM30 + 4 ER SL and you can use the last 2 tons as you see fit.

grrr

yet again, i didn't ask for advice, i said that it's silly that arm ammo is used the last when it's the easiest place to lose that ammo, and just illustrated it with a recent (kind of hilarious) game

when you advise people who didn't ask you to, especially when those people already know that matter pretty well and when your advice derails their thread... don't be surprised when you meet anything but gratitude

... right because non-laser boats are the bigger problem... right....

You don't balance a game by trying to make the small problems as big as the bigger problems.

ROFLMFAO, i wouldn't have thought that a typical tier 5 player worries about what ammo gets used first kitty.... :P

But whatever, by all means cry about your skillcrow being gimped by it's ammo usage, guess the trick for you is to learn how not to lose your arms, eh?... :D

(:

also it's not about gimping or something... it's just a weird hindrance which exists for absolutely no reason

All right, I'll throw a bone to you, Arcade. As a professional lurker I've absorbed a metric sh!t-ton of hearsay. What I remember a Dev saying ammo-wise is this: ammo is used up in relation to how close it is to the launcher/gun. If you've got a gun in the torso and ammo in torso and arms, the torso ammo gets used first. Hope this actually addresses your question.

ammo should move from the furthest locations first and the same section last, if i have ammo for a weapon in the left arm and store some ammo in the both arms and in the legs. since the distance (how many segments you have to go through) between the gun and the ammo in both the right arm and leg should be used first at the same rate. once spent then the ammo in the left leg should be used, then the ammo in the arm with the gun last. if you also had a gun in the right arm then the legs would go first followed by the arms. i dont know what actually happens.

honestly i doubt it... crow has her launchers like everywhere and if you lose the arms the loss of the ammo is considerable

anyway my recent idea it's to run like this, it should imo minimize the ammo loss (cap in head because if it's lost being in a torso you are useless vs any arctic cheater or something)

this, make the arm ammo being used the first, it's a small thing but we ammo dependent people have a hard life.
you may laugh that a streakcrow has a hard life... but it's true, even when the arms aren't torn off, i had another game today when i lost because i ran out of ammo... did 1000+ damage, had to go out of bounds... with a laser build i would probably killed the remaining people... i'm so much tempted to play wubcrow now despite how i <3 my streakcrow -_-

even a small thing can help ammo dependent builds

Ah, another member of the Underhive has been identified. Welcome. Welcome. I too run a streakcrow. There's no point in denying your place in the universe. Just accept this steering wheel and move on.

To step aside from the "bad build" argument for a second, someone said it earlier, I think: Ammo is (or should) be taken from the places where an ammo explosion would be most problematic first. So unfortunate though it might be, having ammo taken from the arms last makes sense in a "I don't wont to die to an ammo explosion" way of thinking.

Although assuming McGral is correct (and I've no reason to assume he isn't) then taking ammo from the head last is something of a deviation from that philosophy.

Ammo should be used from whatever location pilot wants first like in tabbletop but unfortunatly that's PGI class lost tech.

Is it so hard to adjust your build a little bit? Throw 1 launcher away and bring freaking SIX esrsml instead, put active prob in your hand, BAM, no ammo in hands, 30 volleys of ssrm24 and a whopping 30dmg laser hand to finish dem lights. May be you will want to swap some ammo for dhs.

I do wish we could set up, per mech, the order in which ammo is used with readouts showing how much is left in which local. Plus an eject ammo button. It's always annoying losing an AC10 early on and running around with a bunch of ammo waiting to explode.
I agree with Sorbic.

Ammo use order should be definable by player.

What little I understand of the implementation however, that's going to require A LOT of work, because as far as I can tell there's absolutely nothing currently exposed that could be utilized to allow player customization of ammo location usage order.

TOO LATE, PANTIES ARE WADDED!!!!

heh...

Actually just to toss some lighter fluid on to any potential fire here, I've always considered you streaks and LRMs users as employing the 'computer guided admission of an inability to aim' weapons as, well, pathetic...

While old, the only thing that's changed is the head.

Went from first to last, for some reason.

It's a good change since the head is the safest place to store ammo, as silly as it sounds.

LOL! SO much easier than putting a little circle in a big square, and waiting for the BIG circle to appear and pull the trigger and letting the computer deliver the damage for you...

This is why i just run into melee range and attack the enemy with my equipped 'mech spork. It is a much more dignified method to get right up in the enemies face and stab them for 1 pt of damage with a spork. Anyone can use lasers. Some people can use missles. Crazy people use autocannons, but a idiot mad genius...well we just run into you fall down and hope you die. And that friend is the way it was meant to be.

ammo stored in the same location as the weapon should be used first, period. Ammo furthest from weapon, last. Kind of commonsense, actually.
