Bring Back Old Thermal Vision Please

Even if they shorten the range I would still like the old thermal vision better. I can hardly stand to use the new thermal vision. I started a poll, comment or just vote old or new thermal vision. please :)

That's precisly why it was changed. Too easy to just spot enemies because of a color difference. It was used over normal vision even on fully lit maps.

Also, you can start a poll in the suggestions area.

Just make it a module, so there is a real trade off for equipping it. Most mechs are not module slot rich.

I'm all for the Predator vision, provided everything gets the same treatment on it, like it does with a real Thermal Imager.

With the old Thermal Vision mode, terrain was generically grey, with only mechs, missiles, and damage and smoke effects having a thermal color.

I propose that the environment should have a lot more thermal "noise". Sure, a Mech running the red line should standout like a sore thumb (and be bright red under Rainbow Thermal Imaging, which is the generic color). But a Dual Gauss Jager standing in front of a building on River City should be practically invisible among the ambient. Plant him in front of the Cooling Towers on River City though, and he should be clearly visible as a Cold Patch among the Yellow or Red of the Towers. The same would go for a cool running mech with the Caustic Steam behind him. A Green patch among orange. But a Hot Laser Build would disappear into that same steam cloud.

In short, I'm all for having the Rainbow (or Iron, Arctic, or Lava, all FLIR Color schemes for Thermal Imaging, as is Grey Scale) Scheme back, provided the entire map gets added to the heat scale, instead of Ambient Grey for Terrain, and Blue-Red for the mechs.

So let me get this straight, we can't simulate the technology that is readily available today to simulate the same thing in the 31st century? Have you looked at stuff in a FLIR device? I have and it most closely resembles what is seen in the former...

except its not really a trade off. what are you really giving up to use it? every other module would be worse by comparison. old style thermal imaging would still be so good thered be no reason not to use it. which is the whole reason it was nerfed.

unless there was also a module that made you invisible to thermal imaging.

but they youre adding more stupid hard counter crap which is the whole reason ECM sucks.

It makes you give up either Radar Derp or Seismic Wallhack at least...

i think Predator Heat Vision should come back,
but to keep it Fair make a Module Called(Cold-Fusion-Core),
(im sure you Can Guess What that does :))

Clan should get Predator thermal, IS gets regular thermal.
