I rarely (never) post complaining about hitbox reg, but what happened last night I just have to post. I wish I had it on video to show I am not making any of it up. Was playing on new River City last night in my STK-4N. Fully mastered with all the goodies and the typical 6x LL build. My team was rolling and we were up good but then I saw the "Low Signal" on my radar, so I knew a mech was near. Sure enough an ACH pops out shooting at my back. I manage to turn around and like a beautifully wrapped gift the ACH had overheated and was just sitting there facing me dead on when I turned around. My eyes widened and heart starting racing with excitement when I saw this amazing opportunity for an easy kill, so I took a half second to compose myself. I took extremely careful aim, as dead center as I have ever aimed at a mech, and not giving a damn fired all 6 of my lasers at once. All 6 lasers, dead spot on, for the entire duration of the beam. He didn't move (overheated) and I didn't touch my mouse. 54 alpha is more than enough to finish a ACH even at full health (this one was not). When the lasers finished burning, I see an explosion from the ACH, like when you strip someones armor... but that was it. I suicide from the overheat (forgot I had heat override on), and he just ran away. I was blown away. I then quickly switch to a teammate that was targeting that mech and he still had yellow internal structure and a dark red side torso. Somehow my shots registered as what I am assuming was side torso. And all of this to a stationary target... I cannot even imagine what happens when they are moving.
Maybe my issue was that my shots didn't even register, so it could be that. But either way I think the ACH merits to, at the very least, be monitored for a little while. I am starting to think everyone complaining about the ACH hitbox isn't just noobs complaining for no reason.
