Yes, cheetahs can be killed. Eventually. That's the issue. You have to put 2-3 times the normal firepower on them to kill them. This skews games because your team is essentially facing 13-14 mechs instead of 12. And that's only if there is ONE cheetah running through its nine lives.

Too many of my matches end with 6 heavies/assaults encircling a crit cheetah and firing off enough alphas to turn River City into a parking lot.

At first you are like "wth?"

Then its "wow this is borked"

Then its maniacal laughter at how ridiculous it is. If you added a Benny Hill theme you could charge admission just for the lolz

This is exactly how I feel. People are taking out this mech and getting 6 kills and they actually feel proud of themselves.. who needs hacks when you have the ach? It's so silly I don't even

I think the number of whine threads about cheetahs is over 9000....

Thanks for your non-input.

Thanks for your non-input.

First two kills tonight in an unmastered summoner were ACHs with SRMs and ML I legged and killed them both, they were at 80% when I engaged them there had been 2-3 people chasing them. That shows you how bad most peoples aim is...

agree with most posts.. I am one of those dodgy ***** out there in a ACH and even I can admit they need some structure point balance...

It should NEVER take a heavy to kill a light.. which is what it takes half the time... asslts are too slow and mediums often don't have the fire power.. except maybe the streak crows/cats

Oh please. I was an LAV-25 gunner in real life, my aim is just fine thanks.

LOL Benny Hill, a great man. You describe the situation precisely :)

I my thought like Benny Hill music and the game changes to slow-mo and then you see little funny balls-looking mechs running through the houses (river city and get bounced by a AHC running through them :)

I rarely (never) post complaining about hitbox reg, but what happened last night I just have to post. I wish I had it on video to show I am not making any of it up. Was playing on new River City last night in my STK-4N. Fully mastered with all the goodies and the typical 6x LL build. My team was rolling and we were up good but then I saw the "Low Signal" on my radar, so I knew a mech was near. Sure enough an ACH pops out shooting at my back. I manage to turn around and like a beautifully wrapped gift the ACH had overheated and was just sitting there facing me dead on when I turned around. My eyes widened and heart starting racing with excitement when I saw this amazing opportunity for an easy kill, so I took a half second to compose myself. I took extremely careful aim, as dead center as I have ever aimed at a mech, and not giving a damn fired all 6 of my lasers at once. All 6 lasers, dead spot on, for the entire duration of the beam. He didn't move (overheated) and I didn't touch my mouse. 54 alpha is more than enough to finish a ACH even at full health (this one was not). When the lasers finished burning, I see an explosion from the ACH, like when you strip someones armor... but that was it. I suicide from the overheat (forgot I had heat override on), and he just ran away. I was blown away. I then quickly switch to a teammate that was targeting that mech and he still had yellow internal structure and a dark red side torso. Somehow my shots registered as what I am assuming was side torso. And all of this to a stationary target... I cannot even imagine what happens when they are moving.

Maybe my issue was that my shots didn't even register, so it could be that. But either way I think the ACH merits to, at the very least, be monitored for a little while. I am starting to think everyone complaining about the ACH hitbox isn't just noobs complaining for no reason.

The torso on the Cheetah is pretty small, so it's hard to focus damage on them. The arms soak up a lot of damage from various angles. I've had similar situations where I overheated in front of a big mech or two, they blew off a side torso or an arm but I was able to restart and get away.

They might have been damaged, low on ammo, high on heat, bad aim or whatever. But I seem to get away with it sometimes when I shouldn't. My Ravens never get away with any mistakes like that (granted that's IS XL tech for you).
