Although.. these days in the solo queue.. I feel kinda like Charlie Sheen (and actually winning).
Mostly everyone pulls their weight. This is like... magical (even on a loss sometimes).

Not really. Before the PSR update I worried more about winning than my stats. I'd even drive my atlas to tank damage for the team if they follow and end up with crap score. Now though I can just play without worry and shoot stuff. :3

Maybe because you arent playing for only 150 matchscore and not caring if you win or lose. Maybe next week Eli will be making threads about playing with scrubs.

I'm pretty sure I'm in crap tier already. My KDR never went past 0.82 and my W/L is only barely 50%.
As for playing with scrubs, isn't that always the case in the old ELO system? It's nothing new

Well, I'm still aiming for 300 damage (that's more or less guaranteeing the damage for the new match score) and that seems to be working out. I still prefer winning though.

Winning is great and I still try to, but losing doesn't bother me at all now. D:

How do you aim for 300 damage? you count your shots on front loaded damage at optimal range?

Unless you played in big group that's around where it should be. Technicaly elo wanted you to have a 1:1 ratio on win.
i got similar stats btw.

If you suicide, you'd need 310 damage.
Dying actually costs you 2 as well, but an assist alone is worth 3 (Killing Blow 4).

Depends on what mech I'm in. If I'm in a light yeah, I know I'd need at least 20+ optimal range shots before I can do other stuff and until then I have to stay behind cover and use teammates as decoys in order to get to shoot. On bigger mechs it's mostly just firing in optimal range so that it only takes maybe 4-5 alphas to reach it.
If I trade out of optimal range I might not have enough armor to get my damage in later in the round. I couldn't do that before because HSR was bad, but since it improved I can reliably estimate my damage done per round now. Pre HSR fixes I could be off by more than 50% (for the worse).
I hate to admit it but I usually get 30%-50% more damage when I use my Timberwolf compared to my other mechs but I'm trying not to play it too much and I'm sticking to my Founder's Atlas D for most of this event.

Oh well, I prefer to go down shooting first anyways (I haven't touched the override button very often).
