Refresh my memory again. What happened with previous loyalty rewards?

I guess PGI is just doing PGI things and people have gotten used to it, maybe.

The only issue people had regarding loyalty was when PGI slapped a $500 price tag on a clan gold mech and mixed that with the line "Only the most loyal will buy this."

Edit:
Which was later revised to what it says now on the clan pack site, and they also included the complete pack with the $500 purchase.

I don't really care about the Blood Pact stuff, because they're just mediocre cosmetic things.

From a marketing or PR perspective, I do think it's odd that PGI is focusing so much on pleasing their whales instead of learning from the huge success of their Loyalty (L) mechs. When they gave people free mechs as a thank you, the forums basically exploded with gratitude and rejoicing. It makes sense for PGI to reward their big spenders with some nice badges and cosmetic items, but it's kind of strange to identify them as the 'loyal' ones and not throw more bones at the people who have been playing the game for a long time. Not to mention that the method of determining 'loyalty' is fairly arbitrary, because some people may have spent $1000 without ever buying a top tier mech pack. So they get none of the big 'loyalty' rewards.

The whole thing just seems a bit impulsive, like they didn't think it through.

That is a common theme for many various things.

So... no Year 2 Loyalty Rewards or is it all Blood Pact and beyond?
