You mean PGI admitting that the matchmaker is broken. I agree

PGI "admitting" something was "broken" could just be cover for them caving in to mob rule.

Bioware, a much larger and more successful development studio, did it too.

Since when is doing what your customers want a bad thing?

When your customers are morons or the vocally bitchy ones don't represent the majority of the customer base.

Huh...they usually DO post a discussion thread, odd that there isn't a link at the end of the road map this time.

My only concerns are the Resistance release schedule, 1 every 2 weeks? Its gonna be hell with everyone playing that single mech. I would have preferred 2 mechs every 4 weeks and let the weight in queue at least be split.

Still no word on the Skill Tree revamp that has been mentioned time and again but never seems to pop up. Yes it is needed, as the current system especially with the 2x basic bonus makes our game ridiculous. Seriously, play a non-skilled mech and a fully elited one that gets the 2x basic bonus. Its a HUGE difference all together.

They stopped doing this a while back. I suggest you look @ older roadmaps because I don't recall feedback threads from Command Chair posts about the roadmap in 2015 (if they exist, it was far and few in between).

In two instances. Esoterically, theres something about doing something SPECIFICALLY because your customers will buy it that rips its heart and soul out. RE: The backstreet boys, blink 182, the spice girls, and all the other airheaded music.

The other is doing what your customer base wants that either leads to you ruin trying to achieve it, or because your 'market research' about what your customers wanted was wrong, or doesnt lead to new customers, while eventually bleeding off the existing customers.

So basically what they were doing when they were ignoring us

from the march roadmap "We are also progressing well on a new 4v4 Community Warfare mode, a new MWO tutorial and the decal system."

so what happened to 4v4 and decals? what about the dropship assault new game mode? weren't we supposed to get that in august? now it's not even mentioned in the september roadmap.

...

EDIT: I forgot to mention the changes to ECM. no word on that either.

I too would like updates on these topics, and what is being done to save CW.

A lot of us have long been expecting 40%-50% quirk mechs to be nerfed sooner or later but I'm sure a lot of people who purchased the Grid Iron will be up in arms about it if they don't balance it out well.

But then how do you balance crappy mechs versus great ones without using quirks, if they have worse/less weapon points & larger silhouettes? Quirks will stay, they have too.

I am more worried about Russ saying the game is starting to feel steam ready. CW is not so great, still needs an optimization patch, especially with bigger maps.

Also, I hope this "big" balance isn't just Quirks 2.0. I want it to be adjusted values for heat, weapons across the board.

Yes, quirks will stay. But giant mega quirks will hopefully be replaced by multiple smaller quirks. I am super hopeful for the sensor reference Russ mentioned.

My feedback: too slow.

Development goes forward in the right direction (finally) but it is just too slow. At this speed I would not recommend any Steam attempt before 2017.

They also really need to find more ways to get money than mechs, colors and useless cockpit items.

I like it. New tutorial is coming, PVE is coming, more mechlab tweaks, PSR fix on CW and your tier being shown, and the mech rebalance (including bits that people were adamant could never be calculated...). Given that it's filled with things the forums have been yelping about for ages what's not to like?

Que "Steam will kill us all!", "You rebalanced wrong because I lost a toe!", "my tier is wrong, I is ninja level!" and other assorted gnashing of teeth

Not convinced that multiple small quirks will do the job to save bad geometry mechs. A few superquirks doesn't make these mechs into good mechs as such, but they do have the power to make them very powerful niche mechs. That's a big difference for me... there are still exactly zero DRG-1N or Huginns in the comp level finals, but as niche mechs they are extremely powerful. I am afraid that a multitude of small quirks will not be enough to niche it and not enough to make it good and will therefore remain bad. Only time will tell, but that's my hunch... Please surprise me and get it right!

What you guys need to realize is that they NEED the steam release.

They have been selling these mech packages like their life depends on them. Well maybe because IT DOES.

MWO has disappeared from every major gaming website, even the very positive PC Gamer is not reporting about it anymore.
There have never been any official advertisements for the game and Player Created Content is too sparse and not supported enough to make up for that.

Go to Google.com/trends to see that the search interest in the game has dropped 50-63% since Feb. 2014.

They need the Steam release otherwise we can say bye bye to this game in 2 years, I suppose.

Admit it ! You will watch a player having fun on Youtube in MWO mission 1 of PVE and You ALL will buy it. Be honest here!

Again, PvE shouldnt be a mission. Missions are expensive to make, easy to play through and are not something you would replay 4000 times like the matches.

Make PvE in a sense of aerospace fighters attacking in CW or CW missions where you have to escort a transport, like in MW4.

The biggest current problem IMO is the entire chat system.

Not only does PGI have a buffer-overrun type of crash (chat with a particular friend for an extended period of time, you both will eventually crash)... but the chat system has its own quirks (not everyone on your friends list shows up - unless they message you - a current "feature) that no other game that I'm aware of could actually claim.
