All hail CStreak 4/6 boating speedy Light. Perhaps only then will the dreaded Arctic Cheetos dwindle in Puglandia. Wishful thinking, probably. :P

I grow bored of effortlessly achieving 4 kills every match in my Arctic Cheeseplatter, as lesser Mechwarrior flail around trying unsuccessfully to scratch my torso armor.

I for one welcome the break in the monotony that the Jenner IIC may provide.

If it has Jenner hitboxes, I don't know if it will truly overthrow the Articl Cheetah. Even after the Hitbox tweaks to the Jenner, it's CT is still a bit squishy. It is one of the few lights I DON'T aim for the legs.

If the IIC has those same hitboxes, the Artic Cheetah will still be a lot more durable, and that is what a lot of light pilots like.

We will have to see I suppose.

CStreak packing Jenners moving at even higher speed than the Cheetos will give it something to think about. Unlike Kintaros, or A1, the Jenner-IIC can stay on the Cheetos and dish out more guided damage. :P

I see you edited your post and changed your wording around :). You initially made the Jenner IIC sound like an Artic Cheetah replacement and now worded it as an Artic Cheetah hunter.

OK, for that purpose I could see it being a bit more dangerous. Poor-ish CT hitbox or not, the ACH isn't going to want to stick around and stand toe-to-toe with a streak machine firing many incoming streaks (defeated with BAP). Still, if the ACH decides to do the circle strafe dance of death with the Jenner IIC, the Jenner would probably win, but be CT cored pretty good after a few SPLaser blasts (even with lag shield).

I think it will be a costly victory for a IIC. I think the best hope is the Artic Cheetah runs.

Again, this is assuming an IS Jenner style CT hitbox.

It was my intention to present the Jenner IIC as Cheetos Hunter in the first place. Hence I named it Skill-Jenner in the thread title. Like the Skillcrow.

IS Jenners have 300 max rating engine, while the IIC bugger has 315! Barring the tiny Locust, it is gonna be the fastest Light at 160.4kph.

The Jenner IIC would hold all the advantages though. At 160kph, it can outrun and outmaneuver the ACH. With A-Streaks + BAP, ECM can't save the ACH, and it's guaranteed to take damage from them.

In a direct TnB fight I'd have to give the ACH, but a Jenner IIC using BnZ tactics would tear the ACH apart. Plus, BnZ tactics are something Underhivers rarely see and can rarely counter.

im concerned over the Jenner being ridiculously OP. You could run 6xSRM6 on it comfortably with a 255XL, or 6xSRM4 with a 300XL. So a jumping, 130 kph splatdog. really? Think Huggins are nasty?

god knows how PGI are going to balance this.

PGI will give it more leg internals than a Shadow Cat. Until it is released for C-Bills. :P

I saw the amount of carnage a good Jenner-F pilot can do. Once the Jenner IIC-A is released, I will be grabbing my popcorn. :)

Doesn't really matter unless they do something extreme with the hitboxes, its still a jenner.

Yea, and people thought the Huggin was bad. At least it's SRM4s weren't tracking.

Possibly ghost heat *shrug*, don't know. The quirks for the IIC are unknown. For all we know, it may get negative missile quirks.

At face value though, this thing could be scary. The CT might be it's only Achilles heel (although I never want poor hitboxes for balance, that seems wrong).

Streaks? Those are for people who can't aim. Artemis C-SRM6 boat will be like a shotgun to your face!

I don't see how the Jenner IIC is going to add anything positive to this game, really. In 2013, we used to talk about how new mechs would add depth to the gameplay and create new roles. "Oh look, the Trebuchet is going to be a fast LRM flanker. That'll be fun." etc

The Streak-jenner is just going to be light mech kryptonite. It's a cannibal that feeds on other light mechs and other Streak-jenners, and its combination of speed and armour will make it very dangerous for other light mechs to move away from the deathballs. As a result, I imagine there will be fewer light mechs on the battlefield for a while, and more deathballing.

A lot of people are saying "We need the Jenner IIC to save us from the OP Arctic Cheetah." It reminds me of the story (not entirely historically accurate, but let's not get into it) about when Australia was overrun by rabbits, because they weren't an indigenous species and there were no natural predators that could keep their population growth in check. So the English introduced foxes to deal with the rabbits, and then Australia was overrun by foxes, because there were no natural predators that could keep the fox population in check either.

It's a pretty fitting analogy for how MWO works sometimes. Goodbye ACH rabbits. Hello Jenner foxes.

Not quite. Streaks are not good against anything that is non-Light, so the Jenner-IIC will be kept in check by heavier mechs. Not to mention Jenner IIC does not have ECM, so LRMs can easily find its large CT.

But yeah, the power creep is real. Balance have come a long way from the old Streak Raven-3L, or the Streakmando. Thanks to Clan tech.

I wasn't suggesting that the Jenner IIC would be OP. I'm just saying that it'll be super effective against other light mechs. It affects one part of the MWO "ecosystem" if you will. To continue my analogy above, foxes in australia are not a big threat to all species in the ecosystem, just to some. It's not like foxes are murdering people in the streets.

Similarly, the Jenner IIC will have its limit. But it doesn't add anything interesting to the game, in my view, because Streaks are so horribly balanced in the game. The Jenner is just light mech kryptonite on legs. The Panther, the Wolfhound and even the Arctic Cheetah have and will arguably add something useful to the game. But I don't think the streak-jenner will. Hopefully more people will be using it as an SRM boat as other light mechs disappear from the queue, but there will always be a chance of encountering light mech kryptonite in a game, and I just think it's terribly dull.

It used to be how I dealt with "skill ravens" back when most raven pilots just slammed on the SSRMs and didnt really aim lasers.
