The Method should work like this:

Player must select a Mech, one or more server options and one or more gamemode options and press play to be submitted in the belonging queue.

After the match is ready to start, the player can use the 90 sec waiting time to choose another variant of the choosen before Battlemech to prepare better for the now known map. (similar to the possibility to change the dropdeck cw when the map gets known)

Pros:
- Matchmaker can work with the PSR and the mechclass as always, or even with the tonnage.

- Long term and experienced player get new motivation to buy and hold more variants of the same mech, have them fitted and equipped with complete modul sets for being better prepared to special circumstances. (bigger time/money sink)

- Higher propotion of seen mechsbuilds (other map - other fitting, increase of variability)

- on the long term PSR will reflect the competence of a player to adapt the unique challenges of the given maps, which fortifices the simulation character of MW:O (proper tool - better result, more analytic playstyle)

- Not so experienced players (fewer variants, fewer moduls, ... ) are obliged to first drive more "average all time" mechs to get better known the basics of the game, which will potentially result in more even matches in lower tiers.

Negs:
Don`t know.

Honestly i would like if only OmniMechs could do this. They should have some kind of logistic advantage over standard BattleMechs that they currently lack completely.

game could charge a fee for quickly changign the mech, like 20k Cbills, and omnis are for free.
But without a proper economy and reasons for this it would just be a anti IS system. (ok soon anti IIC as well)

However in CW such a thing could be done, When the one minut for dropreparation is counting, let people be able to change the 4 emchs in their dropship form a lst of 10 mechs they can "prepare" for quickchange. With economy, non omnimechs need to pay, Omnis not, or less.

I don't like this idea at all. Doesn't make sense to me to do this. The map changes the way you play your mech, and changing the game in the way that you propose would just give an unfair advantage to players who've been here longer or who've spent money on the game to get more than a few mechs. What you're proposing would tilt the game in a more "World-of-Tanks-pay-to-win" direction, which I would not like to see.

I remember that time I picked up a mech with 5 LPLs and ended up in Terra Therma

Very nice suggestion! It would help to supress some upset when, for example, a hot map is choosen and you sit in a laser boat. Or you have an LRM Boat an Forest Colony in incoming.

So there would be more different builds on the battlefield!

I see what you are aiming for. And while I agree that this proposed change was in favor of veteran players if PSR ever works correctly than like OP pointed out this would be reflected in your tier level and be respected by MM.
You need to see that this game has been around for quite some time and players got little to no incentive to make use of their mech-hangar. All I am trying to say is emphasize the collctors spirit of MW:O a little. At the moment and since ever this game has been a map/spawnpoint/variant lottery and I get REALLY tired of this.
On a side note: This game is "click 2 battle" in its heart but what is the point of not knowing which map you will be fighting on. Even abstract all lore and fluff this makes no sense at all.
I know random maps are detriment to high alpha laser vomit builds and min-maxed meta loadouts in general and I always got the point of having a random map selection with the former pseudo-ELO system. But now we are about to get tiers. If this works out we could finally make more use of our mechs without hurting new players.

So the veterans have an even easier time to pwn newer player?
Honestly, no. If someone wants to stick with a niche mech/build, like a nova with 12 small laser, he/she should see it through.
Drop on Frozen City? lucky. Drop on Mordor? deal with it.

I don't want games on Alpine with 45 gauss rifles present. likewise i don't want games on frozen city with 150 medium pulse laser present.

nope. nope. nope. nope.

With the Tier system, they should not drop together, so no pwnage of new players.
