True, it will be fresh for a while.
But I think that the "usual places to fight" is a problem, and as my suggestion is very much doable I'd rather have that as it would add close to infinite variety and would make the "usual places" much less usual.
It would even make playing one map several times in a row fun as it could be a very different challenge each time.

Because I was reminded of that there are several players that really think something like this would be good for the game.
I still really think this should be doable with not too much effort.
