Interesting fact the Locust 6M at 14/21/28 is the fastest mech in B-tech (though one of the more recent source books mentions a locust on the moon Titan reach over 1,000kph before it's legs broke -set in the 2700s), as such with it's MASC engaged it can reach a top speed of 28 hexes per turn or 302.4kph.

However even this impressive speed per the rules is in fact not the fastest it can go.
The locust can in fact sprint (found in the rule book Tactical Operations), while using MASC for a whopping 35 hexes a turn (that's 105m/s) or 378kph. Even so this is still not the fastest it can go. Using a Navigation satellite one can add an extra hex to it's movement speed for a total of 36 hexes per turn, astoundingly theirs another rule that allows it to go even faster! The RPG (A Time of War) provides some special piloting ability’s, one of them is called "speed demon" This allows the pilot if they sprint an extra two hexes of movement (if not sprinting a single MP is added but using these extra MP is considerd as haved sprinted) to it's total for a grand total of 38 hexes a turn or 410.4kph!

Wheeled, Tracked and hover based vehicles also get a extra MP if they travel on roads.

The assumption that battlemechs are lumbering war machines is somewhat false, when you consider that even a Atlas (3/5) can reach 75.6kph (47mph) and with the right pilot 97.2kph (thats 60.4mph by the way, most real world MBTs are governed to ~45mph road speed (even the Abrams at 42mph)!)

Though IIRC some of the regimental abilitys change a few things so even using these rules one might be able to go a bit faster...

Note Sprinting rules stack with MASC/TSM and the Supercharger, so you can have a mech with MASC and a supercharger and sprint for a whopping 3x "walking" movement modifier, so a 10/15 mech can reach 10/15/30, though only at great risk of it's motive systems going kaput... All vehicles & mechs can sprint by defult (but are not able to attack and are easier to hit while doing so, pilot is consentrating on piloting...)

ComStar's experimental Celerity, one of the most insane canon units ever, goes 16/24 (32) for a maximum of 345.6 km/h with MASC.
