This is a lot better than I expected.

Perhaps there is also a need for some kind of short tutorial that covers the mechlab? Even if it were only like 2 min long I think it could do worlds of good. A short blurb about the pilot lab wouldn't hurt either.

Some of the construction rules are strange(like the min 10 and what 1.4 or 2.0). This is further complicated by a 225 engine including only 9 sinks, a 220 only 8, and so forth. Inner Sphere, Omnimechs, and non-Omnimechs could be confusing to anyone not familiar with the franchise. Then there are all the upgrades and new players tend to make simple mistakes like thinking Ferro Fibrous makes armor stronger or allows more armor. Just lots of stumbling blocks all over the mechlab.

You can also go over weapon ranges and point out its still generally worth shooting a target that is 50% beyond max range. At 2x the crosshair might turn red but you are doing almost nothing but scratching the paint.

May also want to go over front and rear armor as new players tend to put A LOT. It doesn't help that some mechs come stock with lots and lots of rear armor either.
