In addition to adding your unit the list here on the forums, you can also add it to the list of MechWarrior Online units on the MechWarrior Online WIki. 30 units have already added their units to the list. To add yours, simply fill out this form.

You may want to consider seeing if you can code up a way to do interwiki links without doing external links.

In other words, instead of this:
Centurion

You could use this:
Centurion

I'm probably overcomplicating my explanation. I've never admin'ed a wiki, so I'm not entirely positive how to do that, but I do know it can be done.

To do an internal link to the Centurion page, you would type

Centurion

To link to that page but use different text than the page name, you would use

6th confirmed Battlemech

You got the external link code correct though.

Over 140 unit have listed their units in the MWO Wiki unit directory. That's actually more than can be found here on the Merc Corp Pages sub-forum. To add yours, fill out the form on this page.

In other news, the facebook page for the MWO Wiki has over 100 followers. I suppose that means I should actually do something with it, lol.

Everything on here is a work in progress. Feel free to edit anything you think needs to be fixed.

It seems like something is broken with thumbnails.

Quote

Error creating thumbnail: sh: /usr/local/bin/convert: No such file or directory

Check this out: http://mwowiki.org/i...ist%22_Regiment
as far as I see image is formatted correctly in wiki code, yet wiki says that there's no file? Weird cause file is in here, under correct name.
Guess it's something admin needs to look at.

The site is bring moved to a new server right now. I believe the term "pardon our dust" applies.

I wanted to fill CC's page not so long ago and while I completed the list of mechs we can manufacture at this time (and left the Cataphract, Catapult there, because even though we can't produce them at the moment, we still have armies lying around) and added relationships, I came around the fact you don't have much info in regards to the implemented mechs on your wiki, so when the updating becomes an option again, could I fill it with some of the info from this site?

By all means add descriptions to the 'Mechs and faction pages. The reason I wanted a wiki instead of a regular static site is so the the pages could be updated far more quickly by the community as updates come out rather than depending on just one person to do it.

I don't suggest copying directly from any other sites or source books though as that could be considered plagerism even if you cite the source. I would suggest putting the description into your own words just to be safe.

All information available on the wiki is either based on officially released information about the game or stats based on the table top game. Cases where information is based on table top stats is noted on the appropriate page (mainly on weapon pages). On pages about the 'Mechs, hardpoints are not yet listed and models that existed as of 3049 but have not been confirmed in game are listed under an unconfirmed section. I have actually removed information that people have added from what they know from the closed beta.

Once the game goes into an open beta phase, there will be a huge amount of updating required to reflect what stats are actually in the game.

That hopefully clears that up for you.

What would a group do to report or go about finding a permanent solution to people vandalizing their personal unit wiki entries?

There are a couple things I can do.
1st is that I monitor all changes myself practically daily, so I've seen the edits that the Word of Lowtax members have been doing and have undone them myself.
2nd, I can protect pages so only logged in members can edit your page.
3rd, you can have the wiki email you when someone changes a page you are watching. For that option, log in, go to user preferences>watchlist. Enter an email address and check the box for "E-mail me when a page on my watchlist is changed". Then on your unit page, click "watch" at the top to monitor it.
4th I can protect it so that only I can edit it.

Let me know if you would like me to set up one of those protection levels. If I do miss vandalism, you can PM me on these boards or reach me on my talk page.

Also, I'd like to note WoL guys probably violated the author rights of Hayden or Ironhawk, as they editted their repaints and didn't credit them. I will ask them if the're fine with it, but if not, could you delete them?

Well looks like they fixed that, lol.

Thanks to Hayden and Ironhawk for the uniform and mech repaints that we made better.

To be fair though, there are a number of units out there that that display 'Mech images on their pages (and in their forum signatures I might add) with out citing who made the original artwork. It's usually not a problem as long as they aren't claiming credit for them.
