Mauler Quick Analysis

(Hope the video came out right)
So, like the title says, going over a few noticeable things in that weekend update at the end with a sneak peak of the Mauler.
The first thing I noticed and that I discussed with Juodas in-game while pugging (Mister D was there too ) was how the Mauler walked. Remember how the Awesome walks? That's the Mauler's animation, Awesome walking, so, prepare for the bouncy arms.
The second thing were the arms. They showed 2 variants, one with PPC arms and one with Laser arms. The arms, are nowhere stubby very much when you look at them, they rather look quite nice, as do the laser arms, being a little shorter, which relates to the Warhammer's PPC arms; they'll look somewhere or close to the Mauler's PPC barrels/forearm.
Last thing I saw were the hitboxes, looks well, though without a proper shot or view I couldn't tell if it was a barn door or not. Regardless the LRM/SRM racks were okay, just be careful when trying to peak with it, sure the SRMs will fly but you'll be restricted by your arms (someone else mentioned this in-game in the same match mentioned).
So it boils down to, Average or above average quirks for the Mauler?
I sense dakka dakka quirks coming for it, which is good, considering how many hardpoints one variants gets.

Could be wrong though..
But it looks great. ST Missiles came better out then expected.

Oh, that's another thing we discussed as well.
In general it does look a bit slim but that's a good thing isn't it? I mean with the rescale of the Awesome it'll be reasonable to why the Mauler is the way it was in that video.

Yeah, Juodas didn't care for it either, and neither do I now that I look at it more and more.
But question is, what kind of walking animation to give, the Highlander's?

Arm shake? Pine POint convergeance? Yeah.....your guns are not going to shake and your weapons be dead on.
Only way you get PP is to stop to dead still, and even then, aim a little, lock on a target and it becomes PP...but thats for another topic entirely.

ATM PGI seems to be hating on ballistics except for the gauss so I'd more expect LRM & PPC - Laser quirks.
Of course it could be like the victor and have virtually nothing.
The shoulder pads on the arms look like they'd be sensible for a arm HP & armor boost though.

On a side note, anyone noticed that the shots were "off" a bit? The arms sway so much that they point left, but the lasers/PPCs shoot forward, where the mech looks at.
That problem is not new, some mechs have it, but I think the mauler is a prime example for it.

To be honest, i still have hope that the pods will be MOSTLY gone when no LRMs are installed.
Mostly because of one of the Instagram posts showing off the orthos of the mech (which only showed off the shoulder without any missiles, but i shopped it onto the main orthographic of the entire mech's front profile)

If PGI knows what's good for their wallet, they really should make it removable.
So here is hoping that.
