Since The Introduction Of Psr, I Cannot Get A Good Match

Match quality for me has decreased drastically ever since the event/weekend was over. So maybe the system works in theory, but there are not enough players? Group queue takes upwards of 15-20minutes to find a match, and then half the time it is a 12man stomp.

If I stay in my comp mechs I still tear people apart but if I try and basic out one of my just for fun mechs its is hard to get much above 500 damage. I have noticed while it does seem to be quite a stomp one way or another that isn't a bad thing. I usually get matched up with 228,EmP,SJR and the like so it only makes since that when either side makes a mistake it gets exploited and then the destruction occurs. This is most likely because when good players seen an opening and take it its pretty much over if everyone is fairly close to the same skill level.

Yesterday I had a bunch of good matches in good teams, even when we lost it didn't feel terrible.
Today I have 1 or maybe 2 wins out of circa 15 matches, this is really starting to piss me off :angry:
How can the quality of teammates be this uneven???

I just love these posts where someone, the OP, blames the MM, PSR, his "team" while off by himself as the problems.

Now that PSR is here and is value of personal performance instead of a system whereby one can be carried, we have people finding out that they are not as good as they thought. Many cannot take that realization, as we have been reading as nasuem since PSR was launched.

Solo queue. Not only that, solo queue during an event.

To avoid the underhive, avoid the solo queue.

Quality of games goes up dramatically.

You know, for me, it's been a mixed bag. Sometimes, you get the best matches you've ever had. Other times, it's a 15 second ROFL stomp, where you get shot in the back from extreme range by someone you don't even know was there and can't see (ECM/radar deprivation/advanced zoom), and spend the next 15 minutes spectating. Wash, rinse, repeat, that isn't much fun. In the group queue it's all LOLstomps all the time.

Frankly, I think it's too early to tell. Last night in a couple of matches I actually did better in a laser mech than I did with LRMs and that isn't usual for me.

Who else can is there to blame when 6 mechs die in 2 minutes?

OK just an estimate based on the data you provided but here is probably exactly what happened. You were playing wellenough to get good damage and kills but not good enough to carry games. So your Elo leveled out in the middle or lower middle some place. When the new system went into place it went back and look at all of those losses you had and made most of them count as a wash or good enough to bump up your PSR a good bit.


So what it means is it makes it where you need to carry teams more. You need to be the one playing to win and getting 1k damage and 5 kills. Your PSR will probably go back down a bit over time. Or you could start playing in a unit. The higher your PSR the more I think it helps playing with other people. Either A they can help you carry the games or B they can bring down the average PSR if they are lower than you.

Go get in a unit. Then at least you have some one to help you. Not to mention making friends etc. :)

It's been a little bit up-and-down for me, running into really bad matches and then having a set of really good matches and then next session I get another set of really bad matches again. A very recent example of a bad match (a few hours ago or so now) was my team NASCARing itself to death on Caustic Valley because they wouldn't turn around to fight, and having literally over half the team not break 100 damage dealt in that same game, meanwhile I did over 500 damage in my Blackjack (because I actually tried to fight the enemy chasing us) which was the highest damage dealt on both teams.

I think I just need to play more to get in a better tier and then games will be more smooth; either that or just don't play during Europe primetime.

Which Blackjack did you use? I stopped using my favorite -the BJ-1DC- after they changed its quirks.

1X laser vomit, it can be pretty nice when I play it like an oversized LCT-1E.

I've considered using the 1DC as a sniper like this, but it kind of sucks not having jumpjets on a lightweight sniper so I've stuck with this BJ-1 sniper build instead that does have jumpjets; YMMV though and 1DC does have better quirks for that.

My KDR has dropped 0,01 but SOLO matches are more fair. I played some matches with high skilled players in GROUP... we made really good stomps.

Tonight has been odd. I'm seeing more olive drab than usual; players go where new players go, while matches move in slow motion. My damage and kills are great, but I feel a little out of place.

one of my latest matches was the most memorable on this week

hpg conquest, my team was very bad and cowardly, me and a light lance tried to siege their theta but were shooed from, a hellbringer and some other heavies which rushed from it made my ct armor red, i fled and ran around the central building looking for somebody to fight with, my light buddies disappeared, the rest of the team was massacred far away, so i ran and here i suddenly met a thunderbolt with buddies who orange cored me, i fled again and was later attacked by a locust who tried to shoot my long-suffering ct but was promptly disassembled by my streakcrow and died; my team still was dieing far away but we were leading by cap score, so i, being one good shot from death, decided to cap one or two points... but my light buddies from before, a spider and a raven, already went there so when i ran there the points were already capped, now we had 4 points of 5 (theta obviously was theirs) and i suddenly realized that the massacre ended and we are the last remaining... enemy had 7 mechs or so. i thought we could possibly simply wait and powered down but i immediately saw a laser trace and powered up, their lights went to me and my buddies, also all but 1 points were recapped/being recapped and we have to protect the one remaining point... we still had a massive score lead. i attacked their cheater and managed to avoid his attempts to shoot my orange ct, the cheetah soon lost a leg, other vital parts, everything, here the spider stole it from me and landed the killing blow >< i was mad, especially considering that their panther immediately jumped at me and managed to finally take my ct with a good shot. the spider fled, the raven left to fight the panther protecting our last point, the score was close to our win. he fought like a lion but the panther was stronger, eventually the raven lost a leg and then was killed, the panther went to cap our last point... meantime the spider snook to the unguarded theta and began to cap it. the panther capped our last point when our score got to 747 but ten seconds later the spider took theta and few seconds later we won. that's how a spider with 44 damage and 2 stolen kills, a raven and a mutilated crow carried a lost game (:

Its really at the point now of why continue playing? I've lost around .10 KD and my W/L is now below 1:1.....

This game is becoming more frustrating than it is worth playing.


Once you get out of Tier 5 you'll have better games.

So let me get this straight, teir 5 players carry 2.0 KD's and over 1.25 W/R ratios..Well used to have that before MM was changed.


Had some good matches last night even though I was messing around with random builds.

So you drop in a mode with no players and then complain there are no players? Is that what you did?
CW is for organized groups because they ruined the pug game for solo players. Groups get you mad in a mode that was designed just for groups?

It only took 2 weeks to get back to the same place as the old ELO.

A couple of guys on both teams doing 500+ dmg in good mech builds... a team of ******** monkeys scoring that much between themselves...

Carry hard and still lose, or don't play....
