Ok, so I get it. We cannot have the Federated Commonwealth because of the game and how it has us all pitted against each other etc etc....

How about a FedCom Clause though?

We still have our Steiner vs Davion border where we skirmish (at least we will again someday). The FedCom Clause would allow us to reinforce Steiner against her Inner Sphere enemies and it'd allow Steiner to come reinforce Davion against our Inner Sphere enemies.

My opinion, I find this mechanic stupid.

We can't have CW be both IS vs IS and IS vs Clan. It should be one or the other, not both... Not to mention there's no freaking 'end goal' for CW. There has to be an end goal for the game mode, otherwise it's just a stale vision of a grandiose idea.

I think at this point there needs to be two separate CW modes. One 3015-3049 IS vs IS for Davion vs Steiner and the rest, and one 3050-3057 IS vs Clan, for the FedCom to exist, with each having the end goal of recapturing Terra and reforming the Star League.

Oh I know, I have created previous threads in support of a FedCom merger. All were shot down. This is a suggestion for a SUDO alliance. One of my bigged griefs in CW is that I cannot attack Marik on Steiners front to further the pressure on my (Davion) front.

'Course, this was before the CLans steamrolled their way past terra.... IMHO there, PGI needs to follow the wave guide for selecting planets "in play".

I'd like to see themed seasons for Community Warfare.

3025 Season - IS versus IS, All Tier-1 tech
3039 Season - IS versus IS, all-tech enabled
3050 Season - IS versus Clan only, all-tech enabled
3069 Season - Jihad, Everyone versus Word of Blake
Whatever Season - Clans versus Clan only

etc etc etc etc etc

Be a damned sight more interesting than what we have now

They need to allow players currently on a permanent contract and over a certain loyalty rank to vote for non-aggression pacts and alliances. Both factions would need to agree to them to create one, but only one to break them.

Non-aggression pacts would close attack paths into each other's territory, and could be for set time lengths.

Alliances would not only close attack paths, but allow cross-faction support for defense and attack routes (maybe only defense routes for IS vs. IS or Clan vs. Clan.)

To break them would require another loyalist of a given rank vote, but only on one side.

Steiner-Davion alliance should be a default, along with indefinite non-aggression pacts between Clans.

Leaving the rest of the Inner Sphere as fodder?

Well, here's where it gets complicated.

Steiner+Davion=Federated Commonwealth
Liao+Marik+Kurita=Concord of Kepyten (spelling?)
And once the threat of the Clans was finally realized...
FedCom+Marik+Kurita with a little Liao.

So, once the Clan invasion matured to wave whatever, all the IS unofficially made nice to combat the Clans.

The Clans, on the other hand, were still battling each other for planets assured in their superiority when it came to the IS.

So, IMHO, once the invasion is at a critical point (like now?) the IS should make nice (by PGI) and all efforts should focus on the Clans. On the flip side, idk if the Clans should continue their internal fighting or not. It would be one way to balance the equation.... Maybe...

ANd all that would make a perfectly good CW season! :D

Marik-Liao could start with a non-aggression pact as well. They had some minor border squabbling that would make a full alliance questionable. Could throw Kurita in there as well, but game mechanics-wise it wouldn't do anything unless they manage to cut across FedCom space. By that time, the player's in the factions should have already setup and stabilized alliances and non-aggression pacts.
