Playing solo is very quick but even a group of two the matches take quite a long time to find - a wait of 10-15 minutes is not unusual.
edit:
Having read around it seems that solo and group queues are split up - was this always case? I can't see why you'd divide that. Yeah sure pugs vs organised group means the latter will normally win but it's not the end of the world.
I'd rather play a game where I get stomped quickly then have to wait for ages.

*Although I most often play in a duo, I also play groups of 3-6 fairly often, and they are at least as subject to excessive wait times. At least my other groupmates rarely try to torture me with anything involving chia, watercress and probiotics.
Suggestion 1: allow people to select whether they prefer a quicker search or more balanced match.
Suggestion 2: allow solo players to opt into the group queue - off by default for newbies, of course.

Since I can't seem to figure out how to directly incorporate an image into my post I'll just link to it instead. Basically this is a screenshot of my in game pings from the three server regions. NA has a 42 millisecond latency and 93% players have chosen to play in this region, EU has a 97 millisecond latency at 82% player choice rating, and Oceanic has a whopping 284 millisecond latency with only 23% player choice rating. Oceanic isn't an option for me so I've opted out of that region.
