Clan wolf only made 1 variant in very limited population of the Orion IIC I have to add and most other clans shun that.

Atlas IIC would probably not be to common for the clans and ever be used by clan wolf or clan ghost bear / built by them only- still leaves all the other clanners going "give me the atlas II instead!"... speaking of which I wish the atlas II was in game.

We still have Com Guard troops running into Stone Rhinos and clan tech Atlas IIs on Tukayyid regardless but yeah, typical Star Captain wouldn't be caught dead in anything less than a Omni unless demoted to a Solahma unit. Then, maybe you would get a IIC mech or some other clan relic like a Kodiak.

I didn't say they would be alive (granted using SDLF/ comstar/ clan battle mechs up against IS battlemechs with often worse heat/ armour/ ammo / weapons... meh)

Would still love kodiak, atlas II, and stone rhino (oh god... this thing will cause the direwolf to be extinct...)

Not unless they gave them some really broken hard points... like shoulder mounted ballistics and missiles ... yeah, could possible break this game like a pinata.

Clans should totally be able to outfit Clan tech to SLDF mechs it only makes sense. In all reality they should let everyone use Clan weapons and end this silly meta struggle

well kodiak already has a decently high ballistic and twin missile hardpoints.

Stone rhino has 2 very high ballistic hardpoints and 1 uber high energy (twin gauss + ER PPC very high up can occur but it also has E hardpoints a bit lower down in the arms. twin large pulse lasers+ some er mediums?)
Atlas II... well not meta on paper, it has the ballistic in the arm and has some better general improvements so the fact it makes the kingcrab and atlas look bad to a degree is a bit of a big step... and if they decide it's a clan tech mech since there are variants that are technically "IIC" (kerenksys variant for eg) it may get a strong advantage then...

But topic back on Kodiak: a Clan XL 400 with 2 large pulse and 6 er mediums being very easy all arm mounted and possibly a single gauss to top it all off. giving a monstrous capability to destroy things in the field with high alpha and speed for a 100 tonner- the snow raven kodiak has duel ballistics so maybe if you go for a lower engine (which you can because battlemechs) you can have twin gauss, 6 er mediums and 2 large pulse if you can manage your tonnage well and equip endo and maybe ferro.

The Bane/ Kraken is an interesting guy and I didn't mention him but it's a clan 100 tonner and it is what the crab/ direwolf "Dakka" is compared to the atlas. But instead of atlas it's the direwolf in subject- because stock this thing had 10 UAC 2's... yep, 10 of them, that's 20 damage of alpha every second or less and 40 if you double fire... can easily be a dakka lord of equipping over 6 UAC 5's while another variant is fun with 8 LRM 15's I think it was and a SSRM 6 I think. however I think that one will be subsituted if added to MW: O...

I sure do love clan assault battlemechs however kodiak is the love of my life and is the most common clan battlemech and considered on par with omnimechs in it's specific role- it is true it is not as 'versitile" when we go to TT rules or in lore but for what it does it does it very good and is still in use by Clan ghost bear quite commonly that most people often struggle what clan ghost bear mechs out there that are not battlemechs because for me at least the first mechs that come to mind- Kodiak, Grizzly, Bear cub, Kingcrab/ Highlander/ Locust (comstar and IIC's) are heavily used by ghost bears for second line or defensive purposes. (most clan battlemechs are used for defence and not offence because it is much easier and cheaper to use them for what they are good for then min-maxing for the upcoming world you will invade as an omni and cheap repairs) however I am getting of topic from what is an atlas IIc art thread and I do apologies. will sush now ^^;
