Virtual World was awesome. Someone in New Jersey was still running them privately for a while (was tempted to contact them). Still have my VHS tapes of battles in the Virtual Pods when it was in Chicago Navy Pier. Still have tons of their memorabilia like the print-outs. Maybe I can upload them and compare to this system LOL. The Battletech muds and muses were the most hard core. Without "stunning visuals," you used your mind to imagine how the battle looked which I loved. btech3056 and such I loved hands down over the rest because of the massive mulituser interface long before it was common. Didnt do much multiplayer for the others, so I cant compare those as well, just played them and they were fun.

According to franchise propaganda, the best MechWarrior game has always been the current one. Why break with tradition now?

MW3 was always my favourite after my first every mech game MW2!!! While I played MW4 through to completion I never got over being restricted with my weapon selection - although I do understand its purpose!!
