I am starting to feel if i don't buy it at the start i might as well buy it for cbills. I been thinking about getting the mauler. Then I start seeing everything I missed out on and think maybe i should just wait for the next pack.. It's a little better for the IS side but for the clan packs the 4th variant been having lots different hard points.

Are you still buying these late in the release?

Why get a Mauler now? everyone who got the pack is going to be playing a Mauler, wait a few months.

I broke down a few days and bought anyway, but I feel as I'm getting punished for not getting it on time :(

same here. either i buy at the start or not at all. early bird rewards are nice and all, but if shouldn't be that much, i mean 4 extra mechs for the top pack are quite a thing. I really thought about the origins pack because the orions but that long wait time was a huge letdown. Today it wouldn't be that long to wait but if i buy now I'd "lost" one mech per tier. and that kinda holds me back to buy it with cash.

Was thinking about the origins pack too. Jenner and hunch might be fun but then you see you will be missing out on 2 energy hard points on both. This happen to my arctic cheeter and shadow cat. I bought them 3 weeks after the cutoff date as i remember.

Maybe PGI could compromise a bit. You still get the 4th variant but not until 2 weeks after the last mech in the pack comes out if you buy it late.

You are. That's the point of early adopter rewards, or rather, that's a direct product of the early adopter rewards.

Alot of these packs seem unimpressive when compared to the Urban Mech collectors pack though.

I mean wow.. I got 2 months premium, 4 urbanmechs, a Centurion, a Kingcrab, and an Atlas, and 4 of those 7 were Cbill hero (loyalty) variants.

No it doesn't bother me, early adopter rewards are just that, rewards for purchasing early. What bums me out though is that those rewards aren't available for a la carte buyers. All i've ever wanted since MWO came out was the Mauler. I bought it a la carte the very first day it was available and yet i won't get the 4th variant along with it even though i ordered it long before any deadlines were announced.

It bothers me because that is a huge value improvement. I'm ok with how they handled early adopter things prior where you got extra goodies, but this extra variant (especially when one is expected to be amazing like the 4th Jenner IIC) it is really irritating.

I definitely feel like the 4th variants need to be for all adopters, to compensate, give early adopters more swag or something.

Also, please fix the C-Bill release schedule, having the Mauler be released first for pre-orders, but be released last for C-Bills 5 months later is absolutely absurd.

Don't get early adopter extra's for buying al a carte so if you wanted the mauler with extra's you would have to buy the others as well

I decided not to buy the R2 pack back when it was anounced (laser vomit was too strong for my taste), during August i was tempted again... but decided not to get it because i would miss the early rewards. A la carte mauler seemed expensive too, the c-bill one will be fine.

Plus i'm saving for the marauder pack and the warhammer pack at some point in the future.

The problem I have is if you buy it early enough to get the rewards, you don't even know how it will look in game. I was pretty unhappy with how the Dire Wolf and Enforcer turned out compared to concept art. So, I suppose the rewards are to incentivise people to take a gamble on the unknown. I do feel that it kinda makes buying stuff later a little disappointing, but I don't think there is a way around it.

If you find that missing early adopter rewards is a deal breaker then maybe consider buying it early and get a refund if you end up changing your mind, because you should be able to get a refund if your content hasn't been delivered yet.

Personally I don't buy mech packs at all though, so obviously I don't need to worry about missing such rewards.

That's a very good idea.

It's only worth buying mech packs if you want the 30% C-bill bonus variants or you have more money than patience. If you just want the plain mechs then you might as well get them with C-bills later. When the extra early adopter variants are nothing special it's no incentive to me at all since I don't mind waiting.

If instead they made all three variants 30% earning boost as an early buy incentive I'd buy every pack on release day though.

I got money to blow, I just don't like the current funding model (pre-sales burn customers out over time) and the several months wait for cbills release is a bit much. Plus I want to see what the rebalance looks like.

MC release dates for bundles are pointless. Start releasing them 1 every 2 weeks after the bundle drops. I don't care so much about early adopter rewards but I find the model unappealing.
