Makes me wonder, if PGI ever include [R] mounted weaponry, if it would actually make people not stand behind you and prevent you backing up.

Could be a blessing in disguise...

[R] mounted AC20, for that team-mate who won't get out from behind you when you're trying to back into cover. Because they're worth it™

But then that would make a horrible saber analogy.

Nah, it should be called HAMIB. Short for Hero Assault Missile Boat. MWO is in due for a C-Bill printer LRM hero mech. (not pack variants)

It's a terrible missile platform though. No High Mounted Energy Slot for the TAG.

MAL-4X "Todesbote" A custom configuration used by a Lyran Commonwealth criminal, this Mauler variant (named "Todesbote" by the LCAF) replaces the standard weaponry of a Mauler with a single Hypervelocity AC/10in each arm, while the missile racks were replaced by MML-7s. Each autocannon has two tons of ammo while the twin MML-7s use a single ton of ammunition. All ammunition bays are protected by CASE II, and the "Todesbote" is protected by twenty-seven tons of Hardened Armor

Or

The "Daboku" Armed with two Tronel VI-X Large Lasers, two Holly LRM-10s, and four Imperator Smoothie-2 Autocannon/2s, a layout that was intended to allow the pilot to snipe at enemies from well beyond conventional ranges. Unfortunately, the housing for the Large Lasers prevents proper cooling and as a result they often overheat and short circuit the Daboku's targeting circuits. The ammunition feed for the Imperator autocannons also tends to jam, depriving the 'Mech of it's longest range weaponry. Only the Holly LRMs seem to work properly but are only equipped with a ton of ammunition each, limiting their usefeulness in a drawn out fight.
