What would you like most, right now, out of the following options for CW maps?

  1. Remove all current CW maps from rotation, use only updated River City & Forest colony, and any other maps that become updated. (2 votes [18.18%] - View)

  2. Use both the current CW maps & the updated maps. (5 votes [45.45%] - View)

  3. Leave CW maps alone and wait until PGI can focus directly upon the problem, after taking care of all the other stuff going on. (4 votes [36.36%] - View)

So, honestly, I don't think anybody is happy with the CW maps we have. Popular opinion seems to be quite low around the CW forums & elsewhere.

I've noticed that the new maps are HUGE. HUUUUUUGE. With lots of cool features, no "DOTA lanes", they're awesome.
And plenty large enough to handle anything CW involves - and that there even seems to be many locations that would be ideal for CW spawns, bases, objectives, and more.

A major point here is that there's more than enough room on both these maps to try "dynamic" spawnpoints, where the game sends your dropship to a spawn that it deems is the safest from the enemy team's current locations - it's logical, immersive, and the only real cure to the dreaded "spawncamp".
(obviously this means objective placement should be fairly central unless we get a multiple-objective system going)

It's a given that there's alot being churned out and worked on and moved down the pipe right now for MW:O - and that alot is getting due priority over revamping Community Warfare.

Meaning, CW players are pretty much stuck with what they've got for the next, what, 6 months or so? Wild guess at best really, but....

In the light of a Steam Release being a goal, amongst other things, I think Community Warfare would be better off dropping the current maps. Which, I know, there is a lot of effort that went into trying to remedy the problems, and sometimes it did work, and much of the maps *are* pretty, but there are underlying problems that can't be fixed without a full map expansion overhaul in the same tone as is being done right now with public queue maps.

All those unclimbable walls and gates (bottlenecks) just ruins CW for me completly.
Even if spawncamping was perfectly dealt with through a sensible mechanic i still wouldn't touch CW because of the horrible map designs.

They could sprinkle 1 million C-bills on every CW participant whether they lose or not and i still wouldn't concider touching it.
I haven't touched CW in a very long time and i don't see much of a chance that i will in the future if things keep going like this.
