This will make it appear as if the Cheater is not that OP because most of them will be gimped 5 laser Cheaters with only the Pre Order ones being able to get the easy 1000 damage per match.

It means you can ONLY win if you pay.
This is NEVER the case in MWO.
PGi's income model is VERY soft.
You ONLY pay to get things faster, but you can get EVERYTHING completely for FREE in the end.
Therefore, MWO can NEVER be "pay to win", no matter how frustrated or envious one might be.
I'm no PGI fanboy (imho no software developer can be...), but statements like that really drive me mad.
They're doing a pretty good job in NOT forcing anyone to pay, still the forums are full of that "p2w" whining.
What do you want? Their work completely for free without anyone ever paying anything? Driving the company that runs the game bankrupt and by that kill the game? Yes?

Oh, will the 4th Variant be available? Didn't realize the special variants were ever available. That would make things a lot more fair.
Laser boating lights have one distinct advantage because very few pilots can play them effectively. Most people simply do not have the awareness to keep them allive. Often you see light pilots standing still apparenty looking off into the distance for enemies whle they get an alpha from someone they didn't see. This fact drastically reduces the percieved statistical advantage of lights. You get a few super stars and a bunch of duds. Basically a skill gap translating into a huge power gap which is never detected by PGI.

Yeah. The Resistance 4th variants already are, I think.
Also, the ACH-C gets way less important in about four hours.

From the Wave III FAQ:
Quote
- Executioner: August 4th for MC and September 1st for C-Bills
- Ebon Jaguar: August 18th for MC and September 15th for C-Bills
- Shadow Cat: September 1st for MC and October 6th for C-Bills
- Arctic Cheetah: September 15th for MC and October 20th for C-Bills
[color=#00FFFF]Yes. The early adopter variants will be available for purchase in-game on the same dates that the other three Variants are made available, according to the above release schedule.

Which is a Ludicrous position to take.
Hopefully this new BV internal balancing system they've got is a MUCH better barometer of better quirks distribution from the onset then the current system is. So we can avoid this stupid mentality into the future.

The ACH with 6 SPL is still OP though. Having the survivability of a spider it should have the impotence of a spider....

I'd prefer to see Spiders get more killy.

That is what P2W does not mean. If you get an advantage to win over others that you can't without paying, it's P2W. I think this forum needs a FAQ with all these already common phrases used in games.

Okay. If I research the different definitions of the term's meaning, I still can't see that MWO would apply to them.
E.g.:
http://www.urbandict...term=pay-to-win
You can't get stuff at a faster rate (meaning constantly outclassing not paying players in a quantitative way).
You only get the stuff SOONER. That is all. And you only pay them once and then have them forever in any way, so no quantitative element here (like special potions or something).
Also, the payed-for Mechs are not constantly better than the old ones.
Some very old ones are conidered very OP (Dragon, SCR, etc.).
Of course every now and then a new Mech that is considered OP comes out and of course that Mech can at first only be obtained by paying money, just like the considered-to-be "DOA" Mechs are.
If the new Mechs would be OP on a regular basis and got nerfed down systematically after getting available for free, THEN it would be pay to win. (please don't quote an occasional nerf here or there. The keywords here are "on a regular basis" and "systematically")
That is NOT the case in MWO.
Whine all you want.

As such, as an act of contrition, you should request the mods to delete this thread. As an added benefit, evidence of your folly will be removed and hopefully no one else remembers you ever creating it.

I know you're not serious, but the Urbie actually is the closest thing we have in-game that is actually P2W

I freely admit my mistakes and do not pretend I am infallable. And you are only the 3rd person to point out I should have researched first. Very original...
