this even beats my beloved KGC-000(L)

it tops out at a max dps of 34.18 (if no jamm)

after seeing this i caved faster than my shadow and trew some money at pgi,
cant say i am sorry, but its hell before you get your bassic's cos it handles like a pig...

(after having played it for 30 ore so maches i can say its verry tanky when you play your cards right, but its cokpit is huge so you can get headshotted quite easy)

It's more or less on par with the crab. You trade armor for slightly higher mounts. That said, it's incredible.

I think the KC is still a better platform. Twists better, more armor, more ammo, can actually mount a few secondary weapons.

I so want to like this mech. I can't see how I can do that when the Crab has better torso twist. Seriously - 60 degrees. It's like a stalker without the ability to hill peak.

the KGC is better vs lights but the mal tanks way better then the KGC it high and centered mounts make it also way better at defending a corner (you dont have to move to far in the open to not shoot the corner with half of your fire power)

and it has a sligtly higher dps

That's rather subjective. I find UACs and Gauss fun weapons to use (because of their additional mechanics compared to other weapons fire-and-forget nature) regardless of their effectiveness.

It's not that it's UAC5s, it's that it's nothing but UAC5s.
I just find boating a single weapon... So terribly... Uninspired.

Rather bad, but not for the normal reasons. The engine cap is so low that you're going to be going around 300STD or 325XL, so you don't really get mobility out of it. As for the additional tonnage, the first thing that springs to mind is running dual gauss, but dual torso gauss with IS XL... you can see the problem. Those builds are extremely powerful but only if you miraculously don't get shot at. It only takes a single ACH to poke your back once and you're instantly dead. The other problem with XL is that the side torso crit slots more or less stop you from running anything useful with the added tonnage. You can't fit 2 AC20s in there anymore with the added XL critslots.

EDIT: I guess you could do some hardcore LRM boating with an XL, but honestly why? The Awesome does it way better than you.

New shiny mechs are nice and all, but it's all about fighting spirit and putting all your trust in Dakka~

when i see these builds and some of other mechs, I ruly wonder why engineers ever invented arms on mechs. They could basically just have atached two big shields left and right. But I guess terra therma and some uphill fights or downhill fights will be annoying when the up and downangle is not enough
