Ok a silly idea, but there should be a 30 second ad for each mech variant. A little video that can be watched in the store.
Now I wouldn't dream that dev time should be wasted on this silliness so it could be a community made thing.
Simply make a forum for a mech variant and people can post youtube videos of 30secs selling the mech and then a short list is selected and the community votes for its favourite to be included in the game.

Nice idea but the problem is with the EB and flow of the nerf/buff bat, mechs get stronger & weaker.

I really want 'Mech purchasing to be a big deal!
When I buy a 'Mech, I'd love a voice-overed (Or at least text!) bit of background on the 'Mech! Who developed it? Why? What was it good at, bad at?
It would really go a long way to make this feel like a game taking part in the Battletech universe, not just some other one.

I actually like the idea...
They could just add the clips from "mech previews" like we had recently for the Mauler..
But dont force these on people.. simply add a button next to the buy option..
