That'd be pretty impressive on Donegal's part, considering the Protectorate of Donegal merged into the Lyran Commonwealth 22 years before the Commando was first commissioned at Coventry. In fact, one of the first major actions of the unified Lyran Commonwealth was to steal the plans for BattleMechs from the Hegemony.

Commando was just an anomalous 'mech in an otherwise normal Lyran recon unit.

Actually the Commando has a long history with the Steiners, it was the first mech made outside of the Terran Hegemony and was the beginning of the end of their monopoly of Battlemechs. While it is a light mech, it has been known to take down 50 ton mechs with the right pilot at the controls. If they intend to give a Steiner exclusive battlemech in the assault category, pray for the Zeus or Banshee, standard assault mechs for that House.

Well, we can't have the Banshee-3S yet, because it would make the Atlas look like complete garbage and everyone would cry favoritism.

Unit insignia is for the 10th Lyran Regulars nicknamed "The Stinging Barflies". Honestly I consider myself Lyran, however I would not have sided with Kathrine as she was definitely the image of Hypocrisy. Saying that she wants nothing to do with war and being more of a leader of the people, yet crushing any civil disobedience with military units loyal to her. In short, I would support the decision of the 10th Lyran Regulars.
