I've noticed a lot of people lately talking about how they need to tryhard and carry really hard in order to have any consistent success. Well, duh.

If what gets you off is having fun, then, that should be what you focus on consistently having rather than success [wins].

If wins is what gets you off, well, put your big boy pants on. Carry or go home.

(action starts at 8:10)

Me personally, whatever, I could care less about the actual win or loss as long as my team wasn't backshooting me and blocking me or otherwise sabotaging my ability to carry. Like the Enforcer helping me in the clip, he's a cool guy. Doesn't afraid of anything.

I don't want to have to carry in order to have fun.
That sounds like work.
Work is NOT fun.

I love this timeless dichotomy.

There's nothing wrong with being casual or being hardcore about something.

It's just important to be honest with yourself in the moment about how you feel like playing, if it's casual, then don't bother concerning yourself with KD or WL, but if you are taking it serious, then you have to go all out and be prepared to kill every opponent yourself if necessary.

you get me wrong soy. Some play only for fun, no matter if win or loose. some play for win and have theire fun. with both is nothing wrong. i have fun if i help my team to win and i mostly try my best for it. thats what i mean with mentalety.
sry englisch is not my native language, maybe i cant make my point obviuse.

Sometimes I carry, other times, not so much. This time, I'd call it more BMOC. Big Man On Campus pulling my weight and then some.

Eh it'd only lead to me getting suspended more often. I limit my voip to TS.

However I think more mature non-trollish players should definitely use it, I see no reason why not. There's a part in the vid where I'm busy typing and a guy corners and shoots me point blank. That's the main reason to always use a mic instead of typing.

If more players played like htey had to carry hard, I think games would end better...right now its every player is playing like dog ****, hoping one player will carry hard...they seem to have it backwards.....

give 10% so one player will give 90, rather then you all give 100%.....

They couldn't end any worse than they currently do. MWO probably has the most consistently anticlimactic endings to rounds. Every other round is some guy shut down on edge of map D/C'd, or hiding / running around like headless chicken telling his teammates not to give his position away cuz he's "playing", last guy runs out of bounds, last guy overrides and kills himself, it's always something.

Then again when a round does end on a bang, as a result it's a lot more emphatic since it's not as common as the other boring/frustrating **** that usually happens.

Don't mind having to carry, but just like a good work out or such, it's better when you have a little help at least, and don't have to do all the work, all the time.

TBH, since the change in from Elo to the current MM format, I at least, personally not had to carry quite as hard, quite as often, which doesn't hurt my feelings. I actually get off more form seeing people work together to win than having to be King Epeen in any given match.

Like I said in the op, dat Enforcer doesn't afraid of anything. He worked off of my movements very well, was receptive to my chat comments, and also knew his ultimate role was to be a sacrifice to the Banshee down below.

Good example of organic teamwork on the fly imo fwiw tbh btw ftr.

People should try and be more adaptive to the situation that they're in, and acquiesce if someone else is capable of taking the onus that you may be struggling with in the moment. Or vice versa, grow a pair when everyone else looks timid and needs a manly mechman.

I don't mind carrying as long as I'm not the only one who's doing it. That's what gets frustrating. I get it that there are going to be different skill levels in a game, but when the final screen comes up and I see 4 mechs on my team that did less than 100 damage and I did 300+ in my lowly spider it kind of makes me wonder.

With the change to PSR, I don't see this as much, but I still see it and it is frustrating. I don't want to win all the time, but I would like the matches to be consistently close.

agreed. And if I don't feel like carrying that day, and it looks like MM wants me to, I can always take my ball and go home, lol, cool off and return when I'm in a better mind to carry. Instead of whinging about it like some do. So, definitely not disagreeing with your OP.

Just saying that I for one don't find carry harder all the time to be that much fun...but carry harder and rising to the occasion can be......if it's not every match. Which at least for me, it has not been since the MM changes.
