I like the general direction of the Spider's quirks. The chassis should prioritize mobility and infotech, somewhere between a Commando and Raven in purpose, with focus on medium-to-long range distances.

For the 5K- how about just making MG's not as gimped for a start. The "accuracy" patch and resulting nerf has made these things useless and they are the only real option for light mechs. - Rather (or as well as) rebalance with quirks get the weapon working again.

It has been an ongoing fight for over three years now to get the MGs in some kind of semblance of viability; much of it has been driven by light pilots desperate to have some use of their ballistic slots, and hindered by one or two ridiculous heavy 'mech builds like the 6 MG, 2 PPC JM6-DD.
If you're interested, here's a brief history of the MG in MWO (as of May 2015):
The Mk. V was the highpoint, but due in large parts to the aforementioned heavy builds, it got nerfed in a record two weeks down to the Mk. VI.
The Mk. VI got pre-nerfed in anticipation of it being OP (yeah right) when the MG hit-reg fix went in; a totally useless maneuver which led us to the current Mk. VII, which brought the MG back to its regular state: Not really useful unless you can mount four of them, and have other weapons to do the heavy lifting.
It's a continuing and sad story that highlights how utterly inept PGI is at balancing weapons.
