First, I'd like to say that I was actually looking forward to this huge re-balance once I heard about it a couple of weeks ago. Now, I am completely stumped on the direction you guys at PGI took.

I was going to individually describe my evaluations mech by mech, but I am having a really hard time even understanding this re-balance.. I figured you guys at PGI would actually do some viable balances upon mechs rather than making these new quirks confusing as all hell. These quirks should be easy to understand why it was done, but they aren't at all for the most part. The Ice Ferret's gameplay has COMPLETELY changed for the worse, and I'm in such salt mode because of it. I can handle the laser buffs being removed (yet why is unknown), but changing the torso turn angle drastically?!?! I will never be able to play the Ferret the same ever again. I spent so much time mastering that mech mentally that it has become my main mech for quite some time. If these changes go through I'll probably sell all my Ferrets for C-bills. I can understand the Stormcrow and Timberwolf being nerfed, but the quirks for the attempt makes hardly any sense to me, especially on the Crow. What does acceleration/deceleration buffs/nerfs have anything to do with the Crow's issues? Same goes with the torso turn rate... I literally do not understand, PGI.. Also, what is all this target retention crap..? I mean is this really a contributing nerf/buff for the problems at hand?

All in all, I am very disappointed with the current "re-balance" on the PTS. There is plenty more I have to say about this subject, but I think the above paragraph sums up my feelings towards the "re-balance" in general. All I know is that if these quirk changes go through next month, I might be finally quitting MWO. I'm all for balance patches, but when it completely alters the gameplay and style that I've been mastering for months upon months, yeah we have a damn problem.

What if I told you that changing the playstyle of mechs is part of what the re-balance is supposed to do? It is far from where it should be and needs a lot of work, but to expect playstyles of mechs to stay the same is quite a bit short sighted.

So why are there a rack of mechs that have always been short range bruisers with +200% short range scan. Its all over the place and it doesn't make a lot of sense.

I completely disagree with "far from where it should be". I'm not short sighted at all, but when I spend a great amount of real money on a game, I expect them to not completely change what I bought it for. Simply forces me to not spend that kind of money on the game again, because it's "subject to change drastically" lol

Because like I said, the system is not perfect and needs a lot or work. Further since when has target acquisition/range time been important for brawling if you had half a brain? An issue with the information warfare side is that is is much less vital than firepower, and it's importance further falls off as a player gets better at the game so they don't need the game telling them as much.

There is a reason why most games write in somewhere that things are subject to change. Most online games after a certain amount of time have some drastic changes. It is too be expected at some point. So yeah, not expecting such is short sighted.

For instance, I play my gargoyle with 10 small pulse lasers. +300% short range... Mind. Boggled.

It simply means that, TO ME, it's not worth investing money into. Your responses are ignorant and biased.

Might I suggest no multiplayer only games of this style? I can't think of one I've played where the playstyle of things has not changed drastically over the years.
