all it takes is that first assault kill in an urbie- then no matter what you do to try to ignore them, resistance will be futile. you shall become one with the urbie collective.

I just recently tore apart a fresh Cataphract on Tourmaline because his low-slung gorilla arms couldn't get a clear shot on me. He didn't stand a chance!

Sigh... would these work?
UM-R60L
Healthy amount of ammo for the cannon, aggressive laser pointers for all other situations and to take advantage of range quirks while they still exist

UM-R60
Because I believe if you shoot enough peas at anything, it will die eventually. Also, double large lasers because why not!

UM-R63
BOOMCAN!

EDIT: Which variants do you get in the standard pack? All three?

The smallest engine I run in my Urbies is a xl 125. Small engines make running an Urbie more difficult because your twist speed is so slow.

Yeah, although I've never been able to get an AC20 build to work. This is better than the ones I've tried. I may give it a shot.

This would also be easy to convert to an AC10 build. You would be able to drop a ton of ammo and go up to full armor and a third small laser.

Really, an AC20 on a light mech would only ever be played for shits and giggles in approximately equal parts

Which is why it's the perfect weapons to try on an urbie!

I finally got to drop in my Urbies... after I found my groove, it went surprisingly well. I dropped my R60L and R63, with slightly different configs each time (ending up with these two), and by the time I stopped playing I managed to get my super-stock R60 kitted out and ready to go for the next time I play. I still want to put the AC20 back on the R60L after I get elites on it, though.

My first drop with the R63 was great... the Wubcan with Sprinkles secured 3 kills and 4 assists, two of them solo kills and two KMDD assists, before mis-timing a jump that landed it in front of a KGC instead of behind it (I still almost got the guy). I then spectated a player in a 6 C-Flamer/4 C-MG TrollNova who turned in a frankly amazing performance with two kills, 300dmg, and who knows HOW many assists, which pretty much made my whole day after getting a 2000+XP run in a trashcan with no basics.

I also managed to tick off somebody on one of the enemy teams I faced badly enough that they wasted an arty strike just to kill me after I got legged, while the whole rest of my team was standing in a splash-friendly clump just outside the blast zone, completely untouched. I don't think I stopped laughing for the rest of the round.

*Edit- Yeesh, and AGAIN with the "only in an Urbie" moments. Following on the heels of an out-of-the-blue 6 kill 4 assist game- on Bog, of all places (it would just have to be my best performance on the one map I truly, honestly loathe)- I dropped on Therma and one-upped myself. By soloing a Streakboat MDD. While driving a 4MPL R60L. In the lava. Guy legged me, and I got squished like a bug shortly afterwards, but still... I don't think the poor Vulture driver expected the Urbie that fell off the ring to run towards him instead of away!

Wish I'd grabbed these instead back when I got R2... if I'd known they'd be this much fun, I think I could've done without another heavy and another assault that I'll hardly ever drive. Shoulda gotten just the Crab pack and some Cans.

i'm a bit torn right now with my boomurbie- ac20 and 2.5 tons of ammo with a SL or ac20 w/ 2 tons of ammo and a ML? 3 extra shots with the ac20 vs longer energy range/damage to poke with- actually does have mild heat issues though since you can't fit it all without using single heat sinks. died yesterday on caldera after overheating. suppose I could split the difference and use a SPL.

I still go to the Urbie when I'm having a bad time in game. And I use the same AC10/ML loadout every time, too. I've had damage scores from zero to 300 with them. And as many as 9 assists. I've had six enemy 'mechs go after me. I've had arty and air used just to get me. I've had enemy firing lines fall apart just to pile on Urbie. And I've had times where I've been so well hidden that they can't find me while I snipe at them, and the rage rises like a flood.

I really want to get the R63S mastered so I can take advanced zoom and radar derp at the same time. Then the rage will really get out of hand :)

Suprisingly you can have great matches with many wtf-moments in this mech :D

Oh you gotta shave a little armor to get at least one JJ on there, Urbies just need to bunny hop to be even more effective - and I really find the combo of AC5/ML's to be very consistent (I think mine uses 170XL, but I also have used a STD150 with good results).
