They could at least get all of us randoms to play under those same conditions. Hell, apply those conditions to the main game for awhile; all 'Mechs get locked to Clan Tech or IS tech with no quirks at all. That'll give more meaningful information than what they're doing now.

If that's the case, then balance is boned.

They were going to drop this on us Sep22 but because of a few bugs pushed it out to Oct6. That tells me they thought this was balanced enough to go live in 10 days. I dont see how anyone who plays this game could think this was in any way balanced. My feelings can pretty much be summed up by the OPs first post....WTF

I am not worried -- if the balance really farks things up then I will just stop paying and playing. Only a couple of months till Fallout 4 -- which would give me time to play through the entire series before then.

I dont worry either. I've played once in the last 2 months and I doubt any of these changes are going to bring me back to regularly play.

Its not just because of the quirks either.

Why go through all these infowarfare hoops, when ECM makes all of it null and void anyway? Its also kinda pointless, because the maps are too small for it to even matter. Even the new ones imo.

Well, and here I am just looking for another excuse to start paying again because after I came back from a hiatus this game is still fun to me. I mean, the customer appreciation reward really got me tempted to drop a few bucks......

And then this happened lol. Guess i'll keep my wallet closed.

They removed the weapon quirks to remove as much "noise" as they could to see where it leaves the IS v IS, Clan V Clan, and IS v Clan balance before they reapply weapon quirks.

They're ripping out the old infotech system (a base part of the game) and all the layers added on top need to be removed as well to see how the new base part works.

Also, the removal of weapon quirks could mean they have actual weapon balance in the works and we can get rid of most of the quirks (read: weapon stat modifiers).


And how do they know any IS vs. IS, IS vs. Clan, and Clan vs. Clan balance is on point or not if they drop them all mixed together in matches?

The changes are what has me hesitating to buy the Marauder and I REALLY want that mech. :(
