There has been talk lately about how the Pinpoint skill is a useless XP sink because we already have instant convergence, and how it needs to be replaced. This brings up the question of what to replace it with, and i was thinking maybe a skill that either increases all projectile speeds, and reduces all beam burn times by 2.5%, or increases all weapons ranges by 5% as a match fro Fast Fire skill.
Well, at any rate, discus.

Perhaps increase torso twist and yaw speed? Possibly in a non-linear manner, i.e. for small movements of the mouse, the change is instantaneous, while for larger motions, standard limits apply.

I could see that working, especially if PGI replaces ghost heat with a system that reduces the speed of pitch, yaw, and arm tracking, as well as overall mech speed as heat climbs.

There's also the new InfoTech stuff. It's possible that PinPoint could be replaced with something that helps you acquire/retain locks faster/longer. It could also increase your base sensor range.

I posted weeks ago that pinpoint should become a target info gathering 5% buff. I just hope my suggestion did not turn into the info warfare ptsd thing.

I think we should just scrap all of the skill system and make a new one (or don't - the game would probably be better off without it)
