At the moment most people don't care, what they see on the radar. They can see most mechs at hugh distances with their own eyes anyway.
So please bring dynamic wheather, that can decrease visibility. Fog, rain, sandstorms... This would make the sensors to something, you need. Think of pilots today, many have to land their airplanes with instruments only.

I would introduce a 4th sight mode. Short range radar sight. You can see just the shape of objects, but independend from map and wheather.
Later a ghost armor suit could protect some mechs from getting detected, ninja style...!
