Hi,

I bought my Zeus 6S with c-bills, and not as part of the resistance pack.

Do I or do I not qualify for the blood money event?

Here is me and my Zeus-6S in action:

Edit:

Also...

I also noticed that on stats I had stats for:

Zeus 6S
Zeus 6s [R]

The stats were identical. The Zeus 6S[R] was new to see however.

The only thing you qualify for is the C-bills IIRC.

That's about it.

The points shouldn't be too hard under the new system.

True, but it's sad that you need $160 to get the majority of the rewards (at least $20 to even have a shot at doubling the C-bill reward pool with a meh Resistance variant).

It's only the c-bills I'm after.

I also noticed that on stats I had stats for:

Zeus 6S
Zeus 6s ®

The stats were identical.

I'll copy and paste this to the original post.

As long as you deal 250+ damage it should be okay.

Yeah, it's an old bug. It first cropped up, to the best of my knowledge, back when Project Phoenix was released. You had separate entries for all of the (P) variants, yet they were the same as their non-(P) cousins. For example, the stats on the SHD-2H(P) were identical to those of the SHD-2H. It's due to some weirdness about how the game's XMLs track mech chassis, iirc. People complained about it, and PGI fixed how it displayed on the stats screen. They also had to fix it for the Champion mechs ( C ). However, for those that have the Prime mechs, the Invasion Primes (I) and Gold Khans (G) still have separate entries, as do all of the Resistance ( R ) mechs. There hasn't been any outcry to fix it, and TBH it isn't anything to worry for. EDIT: It even affects the UM-R63 and UM-R63(S) Urbanmechs.

One of the problematic things about PGI's tracking of stats is that it considers all variations of the same variant and doesn't actually track the one that was actually used. This may have to do how XP is shared, but it's somewhat of a lazy tracking/record keeping way about it IMO.

Yeah, that does make sense.

So to clarify. To get c-bills upto 10million you can have any mech, or do I need to use my Zeus 6S to get them?

As per the announcement, ANY MECH can get you the bonuses.

If you pilot a mech with the magic ( R ) next to its name, you get double bonuses.

If you purchased top tier of both Resistance packs than any match, in any mech, will also grant you a grab bag pull.

10-million max is for ANY mech (it's capped though, but whatever).

It's 20-million max for Resistance variants ONLY (which is the same cap technically, because the rewards are doubled).

For those who own the packs, you'll have to stick with the Resistance variants to maximize the gain (assuming you care about making money).

Past history of these types of events suggest that you cannot recover the money lost when not using the designated variants (basically, after getting the required matches, using the required variants for the bonus money WILL not override the previous gains from using the non-required variants - eg. You get 10 million and then start using the Resistance variants - you will not get additional money since you didn't use them from match #1 of the event).

Well thanks for the info, I guess, geez, bad day?

Thanks Deathlike, you've been very helpful.

Anyway, modules here we come...my match score in the above video was over 500, so now I'm really looking forward to this event.

Well, I updated my post to clarify further.

The whole incentive of the event is to get you to buy at least "a pack", even if it is not the full pack to improve on your rewards.

The problem is that their "rules" for gaining the money are bad IMO in the sense that if you collected "the max" (40 matches gets you 10m C-bills) that it stops counting if you suddenly decide "oh yea, I should be using the Resistance variants" only to find out that "it doesn't count any more".

It's been documented in previous events of this type (why it cannot be corrected is anyone's guess).

I can only reach 150 match score 30% of the time on my Panther. I'm just that bad with it.

Well, I was under the impression you read the the page. I mean, if you had read the page and still had questions, I was rather concerned that giving you information would be akin to trouble shooting my mom's computer. (No, the screen isn't the computer. Your tower is not the modem. That thing with all the blinking lights that the cable company gave you is the modem.)

ERPPC, SRM4, SRM2, 2 tons missile ammo, 250XL, keep the endo steel, rip out the Artemis, near max ferro armor (12 on the head, maxed everywhere else), +1 double sink, 2 jets. Snipe with ERPPC as long as you can get away with, up close you can terrorize big mechs with the ERPPC and missiles, you have enough speed and jump capacity to drive them nuts. You can fire the SRMs as fast as they refresh and still vent heat, so you can use the ERPPC up close to augment the missiles.

Much like the Adder and Kit Fox, play it like a fragile medium and you'll be fine.

Getting bonus CBILLs is perfectly acceptable...Needing 160$ to get prizes? Not ok.

Bonus c-bills are a prize. You just get better (and more) prizes if you pre-ordered stuff. If you look at the actual dollar value of the stuff being given out, it's chump change. It's like the Clan Wave 3 owners getting bonus grabbag pulls during the event earlier this summer, some people whined about it, but in the end it was only around $10 worth of stuff. Are you REALLY going to get your backside in a knot over people that spent $160 getting $10-$15 of thank you junk? As for the people that spend the $160 explicitly for the $10-$15 of junk, well... Let's just say I hope most members of the community aren't that dumb.

I feel giving them twice as many cbills as someone who is free to play works fine. Giving 10$-15$ of swag (not junk) goes a little too far. I'm all for rewarding the buyers, give them triple or quadruple CBILLS but let everyone have a shot at earning some swag.
