Marauder ordered!

This will go nicely with the other classic mechs I got with the Phoenix Pack.

I think I'm actually becoming a Classic Mech collector! :)

Thanks for all the additional rewards!

Now I will hope for even more like... faction camo for the Marauder if you own R1+R2+Marauder pack would be so great. :)

I really like the redesign. It's very evocative of a praying mantis (to me anyway). Something about the bubble cockpit and the arms (also great, that downslope is unique).

And the AC5 placement finally makes sense!

The original design will always hold a special place in my nostalgia, but this redesign feels like a really good compromise between capturing the flavour of the original and trying to sidestep the inevitable HG lawsuit. With Catalyst's new artwork being so similar to the original I'm wondering if PGI will get a pass. If HG litigates the heat will have to fall on Catalyst first.

Crossing my fingers that PGI and Catalyst come out on top!

Well I would have liked the redesign a tad more on the original. It could have been a bit more alien looking. The center mounted AC/5 never was a problem to me and I wouldn't have minded if we got it in MWO as well.

Yet I can live with the redesign still I'm not that overwhelmed by it as it only looks like a 65% Marauder and I think it could have looked like a 80% Marauder.

PS: And remember - mechs do not need big cockpit glass aereas as the pilot gets his vision information from multiple small sensors all over the mech!

Its not a crab, and we dont need those drawbacks ( pie plate back ) or barn sized frontal area to go with it.
Currently the drawing looks like it has much too much volume to be a heavy.

The whole effing point of why the marauder was built was a sleek frontal profile. The overall redesign is good, its just TOO FAT.

I'm so excited to see this mech in the game, can't wait! Now all I need is a Warhammer IIC.

I don't like the design that much either, looks like the King Crab's little sister. Bought it anyway. On paper it looks like a solid mech, depending on the hitboxes. Side torsos are huge and STD engine seems out of the question.

Will likely buy it, but honestly, all I see is a rehashed King Crab. Not very inspiring. The high shoulder mounted Ballistic hardpoint(s) have me intrigued though. I can see some Gauss Rifle or Multiple AC/2 hill peeking in the future.

I bought the collector pack.

And then, after I paid for it, I saw the early adopter rewards. Impressive; most impressive. I like it. The Cbill package will nicely offset the upgrades to Endo and DHS that the 3R(S) will get at once, that yet more armor my be piled on. I'll keep the other 3R stock. Because 3025.

I did not opt for the Bounty Hunter yet. This may change in a couple weeks. But right now, I like the 3R(S) just fine as a quasi-hero, it has the same Cbill rewards, and I'm not fond of the Cbill skin.

It pleases me greatly to see the Marauder coming. I have history with this one.

I appreciate your enthusiasm but.
This (MWO) is not that (Robotech) so.....we don't need your post coming up in some sort of court case. Used as an example of people not being able to tell the difference between the 2 and how that infringes on HG trademark and copyright. ;)

This. I figured they changed the art to combat HG and their diabolical ways, this just says "Hey HG look here...."

I think that's a perspective illusion... If you look closely, it looks like the shoulder joints are almost as far in as the hip joints, which would make it a narrow mech indeed. I think it will be comparable to the Cauldron Born fuselage. Only with the arms much more snug to the centerline.

My kid asked for it and since he is a good kid my wife told me to get it for him. He is such a good kid that we always likes things more if I get it at the same time.

The BH2 is unimpressive. More weapon mounts for a lower max speed. It is rather uninspiring. All crammed into a mech that seems rather uninspiring the way it stands. Games that are great on TT do not translate well into MWO.

I can't decide between collector pack and the hero. I don't like the collector variant having no jumpjets. I have a feeling having one equipped will be a must have, so it might just as well make the collector variant obsolete, just as many ® mechs are.

My most used build will very likely be one gauss + lasers or one ac20 + lasers. Really not a fan of multiple ballistic hardpoints; don't need them. So any other variant than the collector seem just fine enough. Now again, why would I want a cbill bonus variant with crappiest hardpoints..? I really don't see what's good about the 3R.

So I'm looking more into the BH. Considering stock loadout is gauss, this fits more my style, and quirks after rebalance should be on par for a long range mech, suitable. Engine cap is a letdown but 300 should be enough for a STD Gauss+3LL build on BH (just above 70 kph) and a jump jet.

What else.. If I put in XL360 on the other variants there's 15.5 tons left free, but only 2 energy hardpoints on the right side. All in all, I really don't see why I should not just go with the BH and ditch the Collector variant. Would use 5M over it every day. 3R is just trash? They picked the shittiest variant for the collectors again, that's why I'm having trouble deciding, but the BH might sure be worth it.

YOU CAN NOW CHANGE THE CAMO ANYWAY for those that don't like the BH camo. I would probably change the collector camo too, not that I would even use that variant in the first place, probably not.

They say that you can't squeeze blood out of a turnip. Again, “they” are wrong. This MWO newbie has never hemorrhaged so much cash/MC in such a short time on any game – especially not on a “free” one. The many favorable comments here on this Marauder convince me me that my decision to (also) buy the Hero version was “sensible”. My thanks to all. Perhaps, by the time this machine is delivered, I'll actually be able to help my teams win instead of just making enemy pilots feel good about another easy kill. I don't mind that because, as a newbie, I deserve it. Every newbie does. :)

Actually, I'm quite looking forward to the BH2. I am going to try to use it to replace my Stalker 4N. 6 Large lasers. It will have one less heatsink than the Stalker, and obviously not its quirks. But I ran a Zeus that way and it managed well enough. I think the BH2 will be a fine mech.

I'm probably gonna try to run 3AC5s and whatever support energy weps I can cram on the primary variant. But it will probably wind up being a Gauss and ERPPCs. (that thing will be a monster when we finally get Heavy Gauss rifles :D) The only Marauder I DON'T have an idea what to do with is the missile one...

Just a quick question. I bought the pack and noticed the early adopter rewards come with a few modules. I dont have all of the modules unlocked yet in my skill trees. Anybody know if you need to unlock them first before you can use them? Do they automatically get unlocked for you and at what lvl? (ie, med laser range 1,2,etc) Thanks, looking forward to seeing these in a few months as well.

I believe you still have to unlock them. They'll be in your inventory, but you wouldn't be able to install it.... I think...
