300 engine cap should be the minimum. It's a Marauder they modified with a smaller engine, not one that was produced by the factory. We should be able to mod it back.

And like Bishop, when I pictured a 'mech 'covered in credit symbols' ... I was picture more than six of them.

That engine cap is LOW. I'd figure it could do at least low to mid 70s with speed tweak.

I love IS mechs, I love chicken-walkers, and when I found out the Marauder was a heavy (thought it was assault because I knew it as a IIC from MW2, i thought that I might have to pony up. Now with such a crippling engine cap, I'm thinking I might pass. 65kph...in this gaming environment... I just don't know.

still early in development for the marauder, just go ahead and tweet russ saying more hero packages will sell if they pump up the engine rating to at least 300. We can talk more C-bills icons too, but we may want to do a mock up of what you mean by "moar"

this is the best point of all. Also, since I have trouble believing the BH came across all that Lostech, it seems like Natasha's was tricked out...but does that slow a mech really sound sensible? I know it's lore...but...yeah.

The design was engineered around 300 std, so should be able to mount one, IMO, too.

It's the fact that it's an energy boat (7 energy hardpoints, holy ****) COMBINED with a low engine cap that kills it for me.

I mean people run Jagermechs with small engines all the time, but that mech is a ballistic boat usually so it doesn't need a lot of heatsinks

Is there text or drawings showing exactly how many CBill symbols it had?

Cuz i don't think we should make mechs look flowery or flamboyant just because we can. It should look how its supposed to

Well, yeah, the Bounty Hunter paint is much more subdued than I thought it would be.

YES! How can I resist this?

A couple things though:

Why does the 5M have 3E hardpoints in the left arm and only 2E in the right? Because it has 2 ballistic? I'd gladly give up one of those Bs for a 3rd E in the right arm.

And 3B in on the 5D? Drop one of them and raise the engine cap to 375! :P

The BH2 looks good, but... When the Bounty Hunter stole it from Natasha Kerensky, it more than likely had some Clan tech under the hood. Sooooo... Let us run Clan DHS on it.

The thing is that from the design it looks like a rather fast mech, it will look strange to see it lumbering about like a king crab...
I think I'll get the $40 pack, but not the BH. Would have if it had had the same engine cap as the others.

I mean, why does it have a lower engine cap than the others? Surely it can't be because of 3E in each arm... how would that affect engine size?

I'd be OK with a 300 to 325. But 275 just too slow.

Has nothing to do with the hardpoints. Comes with a 225 stock and suffers for it.

Not that I'm not disheartened by the low engine on the Bounty Hunter, or the rather low number of C-Bill symbols on the Camo of the concept art, but I'm a bit more  with the fact that NONE of them can equip AMS. If that's PGI's take on Balancing them, well... Come December 1st, take out your Lurmers to annoy us MAD'ders.

the underhive does not deserve Marauders, thus, unless you are facing Jman5, you are safe without AMS!!! :P

Yes yes. It's got MARAUDER in it though. And it looks like a Marauder.

Imma run that **** in CW. Don't care. Learn to walk slower. Do I want it to have a 300? Sure, and for the same reasons the Hellbringer has a unique quirk for heat management - the Bounty Hunters mech is the single most modified and modifiable mech around. I say give it a bigger cap and modularity quirks. Technically the thing should be able to mount Clan tech gear.
