If it's got platypus it wouldn't taste like a mcnugget. Platypus would have meat in it. McNuggets are made of skin (unidentified) and sadness.

i just figured they'd be made out of the beaks and toe webbing of the Platypus...... kinda like the toes and beaks that make it into the mcnuggets.

CGL apparently already got TOPPs to foot that bill..........

Really? Well, that explains a lot. HG did try to play with the Big Boys when they went after Hasbro, and they didn't get anywhere with that one as far as I understand. Trying to match their lawyers against TOPPS would probably be a similar mismatch. If CGL has TOPPS behind them for any lawsuit that's some heavy muscle.

no its not that its not free its the fact that they finally got the rights too that unseen and maybe more now my point is that mech is like showing a Twolf , battlemaster

a huge cash grab

People that whine about something being a cashgrab fail to keep in mind that a JOB is a cashgrab. Otherwise you'd do it for free and it would be a hobby.

But then again, I usually find it safer to assume that anyone whose username contains "420" is unemployed, so I'm guessing Johnyboy just fails to have a frame of reference.

dunno what CBL is, but um CGL, owns Battletech, through TOPPs, which is kinda the basis for all things MW. THus, if they have cleared the Legal Hurdles, they have also been cleared for MW.

But by all means, please continue rolling around in the sty of ignorance.

Technically, Microsoft owns it. You're right about Battletech and the TT, but the video game licensing for "Mechwarrior" and "Mech<whatever>" titles is owned solely my Microsoft. When FASA Interactive died, Microsoft bought all of it, and its IP out right. FASA Interactive had the sole ownership of electronic distribution rights to "Mech" titles.

There is an offshoot IP that EA owns right now. That would be "Multiplayer Battletech" which we haven't seen since the early 2000's. That came from AOL's old game waaaaaaaaaaay back in the early-mid 1990s. EA's been sitting on that IP for a while. I've always wondered that if MWO ever got really popular, would EA dust off that IP and run with it. I think so, EA's that kind of d*ck.

Ah, the Mechwarrior/Battletech rights. A clusterhump of epic proportions if ever there was one ever since FASA died and fragmented.

Hell, tracking down who has what and who had it when and for how long could make an awesome Indiana Jones Movie. Indiana Jones and the hunt for the FASA IP Rights! :D

also irrelevant to my point. HG tries to sue btech every chance, in any form. CGL is producing new stuff, with Unseen, and fine. Hence they found Achilles heel. This was brought to Russ's attention, and then less than 2 months later, we get Marauder announced. Microsoft didn't have to do a thing, for the litmus test, CGL already cleared it for the IP, and thus MWO is following suit.

Oh, absolutely. Not saying it's relevant to why we're getting a Marauder. Just a humorous side comment on the utter mess that's been the rights to various parts of the IP. I seem to remember Jordan Weissman once mentioning he wished he'd never sold the rights to Battletech (or his other IPs) at all some years back because it made Things ridiculously difficult if you wanted to do anything with them.

Ah well, hindsight and all that. And I'm sure the Money they got for it was useful at the time.
