To save the MAD from early CT or ST death due to it's rather poor geometry, this is what the hitboxes will look like:

Spoiler

Spread it baby! :)

A more serious image:
Is it going to be something like this?
Looks like easy XL death if this is the case.

They are big legs. A pilot would be wise to keep much armor in the legs.

I'm just guessing, but there is a defined body line from where the forward vent cowls (near the nose) meet the central part of the torso (extending back from the cockpit). I'm guessing somewhere in there.

Your XL Gauss Marauders will be delicious to attack.

Just saying.

The vents on the sides and the obvious target of the gun mount mean the mad isn't gonna be XL friendly.

So long as the CT isn't too big though it ought to be a reasonably durable mech.

Well, if the mech has a small profile from the front, it may still be pretty good.

As long as you are with your lance or team, and keeping the enemy squarely in front of you, they shouldn't be looking at the broad side of your torso too much (only quickly under torso twist and you won't be turning 90° to them much or for too long.

You might get a shot from a flanker or a running through your lines light, but once you turn to engage, again the torso will be turned away from the enemy.

Basically I think if the front profile of the side torso is smallish, the side torso should be generally ok.

Think of it this way. A Mad Dog has large side torsos, but do you think it is because of the side profile of the torso, or because the torso has a lot of surface area while looking at it's front. I'm going to say the front.

Again, we won't really know till it releases, but I still don't see too much cause for alarm yet.

looks like a fair assumption but we must also keep in mind that the models are not out yet so some areas might be a bit inflated or deflated in the final product.

hehe I stumbled into this thread hoping for a picture of the top ac gun photoshopped into a tiny ac2 size or snub ac20 like we'll actually get in game. Anyway, as you were.
