I'm interested to see what you all run on your VTR-DS.

I typically go with an AC10 or gauss rifle and two PPCs. Right now it's an AC10, ML, 2xPPC, ASRM4, but that's a little more busy a build than I typically like. Sometimes I go with ALRM5 just for harassment purposes as the sides close in.

I'm strongly considering the old meta build of 2xAC5 and 2xPPC.

I run this every time.

The Gauss + PPC combo allow for a great pinpoint damage. The two LL for finishing the wounded mechs. It's deadly in my hands. I use it in CW too. I often have 800 damages games.

The old 2xAC/5 + 2xPPC meta was fun before. Now i prefer to test different setups.

Dragon Slayer was the king of the battlefield. Today it's a solid mechs, but you need to know is weaknesses to use it well ;)

See you on the battlefield!

AC10 and 3 Large Lasers is fun too (even more when you have the AC10 Colldown 5 Module ^^), no diference in optimal Range and with a 320 standard engine very stable. A little bit hot but it works fine.

Only four weapon groups ;-) so its a simple build
DRAGON SLAYER
It doesn't overheat much - if you don't fire the ERPPC at short ranges often

I'm running the DS with a 350XL, 2JJ, Gauss with 3 tons of ammo, 3 LL, the range and cooldown mods for the LL, radar deprivation, and seismic. Haven't played it in ages since the Victors got nerfed so bad, but my last three games were awesome. Tanked damage so well twisting, and backstabbed a couple Dire Wolfs for good measure.

Do you prefer the AC/10 or a Gauss in this case?

I run it with 2 AC5's and 2 PPC's with most of the ammo + case in the left torso. The reason being that I want the weapon speed to be as close as possible.

Oh and the engine it comes with xl 330

I run mine like this:

DRAGON SLAYER

I like LPLs over PPCs, so 2 AC5s, 2LPLs, AMS (you can switch this out for another ton and a half of AC5 ammo), two JJs

nope, case doesnt help that the side torso doesnt blow off,. for example: if you put case in the sidetorso of a mech with std eng. so lets say you have 2t ammo in the rt. So the rt blows up but the dmg doesnt "travel" to the ct but doesnt care for is xl,if 1 side torso blows up the mech is destroyed - sry for my bad english

i run the DS with xl 350 ac10 er ppc and 2 L Lasers, works fine for me o7

If i would have a Victor DS, I would run it like as follows,

http://mwo.smurfy-ne...beea94a5d266e36

While quirks for weapons may help, its too little to make a real difference in the heat of battle. So since I'm not very good with the Gauss charging mechanic, I did choose an AC10 instead to save on weight, has a good range and good recycle time. three Large Lasers to get some hitting power at a decent range plus a SRM4 for extra punch in close quarters. A 305 STD engine make the VTR go at 67.9Kph once speed teak is unlocked, not the fastest but more forgiving and solid then XL builds. Two Jump Jets as a Victor isn't one without Jump Jets.

That's just the way I would like it but I'm already happy with my 9B.
