Match Maker Revision Perhaps?

Hey guys, just a boring day at the office and lotsa idle times, too bad comp not good enough for play MWO. So might as well rant a bit in the forum.

So as the topic say, its about the current match maker system. I think it should be improved. At least some sort of visible player rating.

Well anyway here's my result from two days of playing MWO. I'm using 1 mech and same exact build for every matches here. All matches takes place in oceanic server (no DC through out my matches, GJ PGI). My build is as follow:
TBR Prime
- no engine changes
- 2 Clan ERLlasers
- 2 Clan medium lasers
- 2 LRM15 (with ams)
- Lrm ammo (+1000, I forgot the exact number)
- some heat sink

So here's my battle record (I didn't write down the damages, will do so for my future post...if any)

W/L ratio = 14/21 = 0.67
K/D ratio = 35/22 = 1.59

Out of those 35 matches:
- 2 matches were good matches (see above), not because of my kill number but because it was a good range and brawling matches. 1 match ended up with 1 survivor from the enemy team, the other match leave 2 survivor from my team (gg)
- 2 matches were base assault where my team manage to capture the base (not enjoyable but part of the match mechanic, no complain)
- The rest of the matches (31) were either win by stomping or lose by being stomped (average 10-3 and vice versa). Not very good. Either I'm with a very good team, or I was assigned to team full of beginner.

So this was my experience. They say the match making use ELO system....but I dun think the ELO system is working as intended. I wish PGI will implement some sort of user rating and set the match based on that user rating. Winning an easy game or losing very badly doesn't motivate me to play more (dunno about other players). I'm not saying that all matches should all be a close match, but 2 close match out of 34 (32 if capture base excluded). Seems pretty low. Winning by stomping doesn't really improve my style, losing by getting stomped doesn't give me chance to be better either.

And lastly, please implement some sort of reporting option. I dun mind verbal interaction, but lately while playing in oceanic server, I see many afk ... knowing oceanic server will involve SEA players, and being SEA players myself, There're a lot of botter in this region. Unless PGI already implemented some monitoring system for afker that doesn't require player to report...thumbs up then....if not then player reporting option should be considered.

It's a relatively small player base. They do the best they can with the match making but unless we want 20 minute wait times we have to play against people of varying skill levels. Additionally, the game lends itself to stomps (for and against). If two or three 'mechs on a given team are destroyed before the other team loses one (not that uncommon) it's a roll 90% of the time, nothing the devs can do about that without changing the entire format of the game. Plenty of threads on this, matchmaker working as intended.
