We have all been through the 2 xp weekend, allowing us to 'level-up' our Maulers.
Now, MAYBE, because of this I am seeing less of them on the battlefields. Maybe thats not the reason. I dont Know
What I would like to know, is that now most of the leveling is done, I would like your thoughts on the Mauler. Your Fav of the 4 and possible load outs for them.
Thanx folks

Sometimes when I grind xp for a mech, I suffer mech overload. I love my Mauler, but I want to play my other favorites and therefore it will sit for a bit.
I'll go back to them though since they might be my favorite Assault (sorry Zeus).
Maybe others suffer that overload syndrome.
You still might not see them in large numbers though for a while because more Resistance 2 mechs will be coming out (like the BK next week).

Still playing all of mine, but RL meant I only elites the 1R®.
The others are almost elites.

I haven't had enough time to elite them yet, but so far the Mauler is the first mech that I ever felt each variant had a purpose.
With all other mechs I've always felt that there are at least one "trash" variant of the 3 I had to basic, and 1 or 2 worth using after that. But with the Mauler I have at least 1 build I like a lot for each variant that is completely impossible to build on any of the other variants. That's impressive given that there are 4 variants all with rather similar stock builds.
For 1P it's 4AC5+2LL. Only variant that can do this with both LL in one arm. And then there are lots of other nice builds using the PPC quirks.
For 1R it's LRM builds with big launchers pushed down to the chest with small launchers (so you don't get the huge shoulders) and the wonderful 2AC20+4SRM4+std300 brawler build.
For the MX90 it's the obvious 6AC2 builds and some other special builds involving 3 ballistics in one of the torsos, such as 5AC5 or one sided dakka builds.
For the 2P it's the obvious 2Gauss+6ML(or 3LL on one side and shield arm), but also less obvious builds like 2AC10+6MPL or 2AC20+6SPL.
In summary, the differentiation between the variants are the best I've seen in the game so far, and the chassis itself is plenty powerful without needing huge quirks. A very very nicely balanced assault mech.
