To get on top of the current challenge's ladder, you actually have two options:

a) To agree with your team who of your one or two guys are gonna be the "b*tches" and farm the points while trying not to lose the mech

b ) Get Solo and drop with a team that can stomp against a pug group and be the b*tch on your own by hiding behind everybody farm the points and let the others get killed

This is just stupid. You're being actively punished for using your whole potential of all four mechs! Also, it's bascially only possible with a laservomit/ppc vomit build. I seriously don't understand why you get rewared SO DRASTICALLY by having only one mech. Before the event (and definetly after it) I don't care about staying in one mech because I have FOUR of them. And that's what's fun about CW. Don't get me wrong, I enjoy getting through a CW match with good dmg while keeping one mech. But I don't do it ON PURPOSE. For getting up the ladder, I actually had actively doing it. There is no other way.

PLEASE PGI, don't ever do that again! A challenge forcing you to be arrogant THAT way is bullsh*t and killing a game that depends on your team mates if not being good than at least not being a**holes!

PLEASE GIVE US USEFUL REWARDS FOR BEING PART OF A TEAM, NOT A ONE-MAN-ARMY!!!

And such a survival requirement favors the defender side too. I mean if 1000 dmg is the base for cw games (at least from what i have seen) anyone pulling 1300+ dmg over 4 mechs shouldn't barely break 200 points. I mean a person who did not lose mechs on the defender side with 1500 dmg gets 3 times, maybe more points.

6666

1500 Damage and 9 kills 30 odd assists is 289.

Ask me how I know this.

We did an attack where none of us got anywhere close to 200 because we won so quick. On the enemy team I saw people with 600 dmg and 2 kills get 500 points because they didn't have time to lose any mech.
Especially on attack where you sacrifice mechs in order to kill O-gens and omega that point system is ..well.. pointless.

matchscore should not be divided by number of dead mechs. period. end of discussion. learn the lesson. make the change. do it.

This. Maybe some bonus for remaining mechs, but small and constant.(Maybe it could be even better for a teamplay to calculate it using a number of remaining mechs in your TEAM divided by 12,so the bonus would be the same for EACH MEMBER of your TEAM)

In CW, match score should ALWAYS be divided by 4.
NOT by the number of mechs used.

My brain just hurts when I think someone decided that playing cowardly and using your teammates as shields should be rewarded.

In the meantime we have to deal with three dudes per game that get their score and then don't move the rest of the game and two more that just never engage.

3 hours left to deal with that. Not saying that I condone that behaviour.

i think id make the axe factor a bit smaller than 50%. almost everyone considers a good game a game in which the kill counters are very even, both sides fighting and dieing for the victory. yet you only get a tiny fraction of your score if you win such a game. what if you only loose 25% of your score. or instead of score division, get a mech survival bonus for each surviving mech rather than an overall point reduction. so instead of penalizing mech loss, reward mech survival.

I didn't notice in time, but the best way for attackers to get all 12 players on their team to qualify, was to destroy 2 waves of enemy mechs then destroy the generators/omega.

We had some really fast games where our team had 300-500+ scores from only 2 waves of enemy mechs destroyed because the game ended fast enough that most of us hadn't lost more than 1 mech, if any.

It also made the end payout bigger. 500k payout for a 12minute game isn't too shabby, considering a less than 5 minute wait time with participation has high as it was.

Defenders didn't get spawn camped either.

Well, one of my matches, I scored over 1,000 without being killed, and I was on the front all the time using a Timber Wolf-C laser-based loadout. Emerald Tagia, on defense-our unit went on the attack outside the gate and hit the attacking forces BEFORE they got to the base.

The other time I scored high to qualify was on Boreal Vault-my last map. Although I thought I was scoring poor damage, I had to pick and poke and snipe and keep my head down the rest of the time. Had a really close call when a Raven literally physically kicked me in the butt!

But the measures some of us had to take in order just to circumvent the punishments handed down for being killed by the terrible score calculator made me sick. One wrong move and -BOOM- that's it. You're dead, and so's your match score. Lame, especially since Community Warfare is designed around attrition, on both sides.

I'm very glad this entire shebang is done-now I can get back to playing for real.
