If you are in a hurry, then I guess this game isn't for you.
I hear Call of Duty is great for people with no patience. Try it.

You seriously believe getting annihilated for 10 months is reasonable?

And not wanting to get annihilated for 10 months is... impatient?

You miss-understood me.

Again, if the game stops being fun, take a break. It does wonders for your heart and nervous system.

And I'm serious, most people underestimate how good a break can be.

Less idiot, more reading.... I already said I own my own business, (work a LOT) and have 4 kids. I am as good as I'm getting.

If a month isn't enough, that's fine. That's what I want to know. HOW LONG WILL THIS TAKE? HOW MUCH **** MUST I ENDURE BEFORE I"M BACK WHERE I BELONG

I think you underestimate how much you might just learn about playing in a more efficient and contributive manner in your games.

However, for that to happen you need to lose the attitude that you are as good as you are going to get. No one that is ever a success at anything thinks that way. You know this already. Adapt it to the game. If you are playing solo all the time, join a unit. Many will be happy to help you become wise in the ways of success in MWO.

You do seem like someone that doesn't like losing. It may be better for your blood pressure to play something like solitaire.

Your PSR runs on an average. Your initial PSR was based off of archived info of you past matches. If you played a lot of matches prior to the PSR going live you will have to play a lot of matches to balance it out. You may have done well prior to PSR and that is what is messing with you. I think you are stressing over nothing. Its all math. :D

Again, how does taking break put me in the tier I belong in? Why would I come back to the same endless stomping I've had to endure for the month this new tier system was put in?

I don't mind losing. I don't mind losing at all when it was a fun, competitive game. But those are rarer than Golden Clan mechs lately.

And your mastery of unsubtle snark is equally complete

What I hate are the constant joke games, and I hate feeling like a liability because the people on my own team are way better than I am

And I hate the crap from dead guys spectating I have to endure. I know I'm not that good, but it isn't my damn fault I'm in way over my head

You know, you could ask the PGI folks if they could voluntarily place you in tier 5.

They may just do that to stop your crying.

Tier 5 is still going to play against Tier 3 - and if you can't be bothered to work with your team enough to compete with the wide array of average players... I'm not really sure this is so much a PGI issue as it is a "I don't wanna" issue.

It's been a month since this new PSR tier bullshite started and I'm still getting ***** almost every game. I am in a tier I HAVE NO BUSINESS BEING IN.

How many more months of getting ***** everytime I play do I have to endure before I drop down where I belong? I am average, AT BEST, and I'm dropping against players WAY better than I am.

And being in a tier I don't belong in, this new challenge is crap, I can't even get 200 damage most games against these players, much less whatever it takes to get a 300 score. Played for 5 hours last night and got a whopping TWO 300 score games. Most games my score was under 200.

This PSR tier is crap, and I am a goddam LIABILITY to the teams I'm dropping on because this.

HOW MANY MORE MONTHS WILL THIS TAKE, PGI?

Not alone, bud.

I used to do 'decent' but now have wild swings between matches where i score 300-400 points and matches where i barely scrape 100.

I DO notice better opponents but i also notice im rusty after a 3 week hiatus. I keep going on tilt and losing patience for some reason.

Just look at your play and tune it up.

By taking a break things in the game wont magically change, but you will.

Let me tell you something.
I only have around 25 mechs from lights to assaults, all IS.

Since PSR was implemented, I have mostly been playing with my most fun mech (a medium) and even though I might get loosing streaks, I always have fun because that mech has speed, enough punch and is maneuverable enough for me to feel "alive" even when all the games situations are bleak.

This was my solution and have been working great.

Either you find a solution for yourself or just take a break, relax, spend more time with the family and friends, enjoy other stuff and in a month or so come back to check things out. Do a few test runs, if it's still not fun, rince and repeat.

That's my best honest answer for you.

I have never ever seen you in game...dunno what tier i am in but i have yet to play with you EVER to my knowledge.

SO whatever tier you are in its not mine, my guess is im in tier 2 or 3 from the peeps i see (if i have a understanding of skill like i think i do in this game). What kinda mechs are you running? What kinda mechs are your teammates running? Lots of LRM's and stock mechs? Or lots of pinpoint and laser vomit and you cant compete?

But like everyone said already you started playing in March of 2014 so they have about 1 year of back stats on you my guess would be its gonna take a few months to get you back where you THINK you belong.

From the sounds of it you are playing with peep who are terrible and then want to blame the loss on you. IF you asked me you were in the underhive but i really dont know. In a few days we will find out though!

V,

You aren't as bad as you think. But remember, there is a challenge going on, so a lot of the better players are dropping in the solo queue instead of the group queue to get the rewards. It's playing havoc with the matchmaker due to low population. Wait til the challenge is over and things should normalize for you.

In fact, I noticed an immediate change in the team composition as soon as the challenge started. We.t from being grouped with similar skilled players as me to being on team's/against teams with players I have no business playing with or against.

why are you guys being so harsh, expect better from our community

id suggest slug it out for a few more weeks

what is likely happening to you is your not dropping fast because your not playing as much (if what your saying about time available is accurate) so your movement through the law of averages is not happening that quick

i play between 3-10 matches per night, some solo but mostly in the group que
group que has always been 10x harsher than solo, since PSR it only got worse not better and it was a lot worse

however the kinks are working them selves out and i am starting to see match quality go up and up
even in the group que things are starting look much nicer and i am seeing much less 12-0 , still loseing as much but not seeing all out stompings

iv been rolling solo so far for this tourny and iv played about 20 matches so far and iv only seen 2 stomps gave one and received one

i do on the odd occasion see a player who looks like his paint is still wet
but i am seeing them less and less, so i think the system is working its just not happening quite as fast as i think we expected it to

i think you should do two things
email support and have them check out your account because ya never know you might be bugged
and just keep playing when you can, it will get better eventually
perhaps take the time to try a mech style you normally would not play , i mean if your getting thrashed anyway, why not learn

I've seen you quite a bit lately. I'm sure I die too quickly for you to notice me.

Gauss and laser vomit are all I see. Timbers, dire wolves, ebon jags, cheetahs, hellbringers, and stormcrows. That's most of what I see.

And I already said I dropped against Twinky 5 times in a row last week...pretty sure he isn't in the underhive.

LOL 2 to 10 months to end up in the right tier, god i hope thats not the case, because if it is PGI might aswell just close up shop and go do something else, no-one is gonna stay for that.
Heres an idea PGI, how about using your MM system properly, stop mixing low and high tier players together, it doesn't work, the last couple of years should have already told you that.

You don't play enough for quick movement of your PSR. And the challenge is amplifying the problems matchmaker has with low populations. It's gonna take more time. Next time I'm on, we can group up and get crushed together.

It's also possible that your "bad" games aren't bad enough to lower your psr. Nobody knows the actual s ore cutoff for what pgi considers bad enough to drop you. It's enpirely possible that what you consider bad, pgi considers average, and thus no movement of your rating. The only solution to that is on pgi's end to adjust the cutoff scores.

I dropped solo before work last week and there were 2 EMPs, an SJR, and a variety of grognard names I recognized...

and strangely enough my roommate, who just got into the game a week ago.

Needless to say he died horribly.

I dont even believe PSR works except at peak hours.
