Hey guys, did any of you ever seen an MWO Ad? A friend got me into this a long time ago, but to this day I'm yet to see a MWO Ad anywhere!

Maybe PGI should tackle a more aggressive marketing campaign to attract new players. The mech genre is very scarce these days and I bet there is a lot of people out there looking for a stompy mech game.

I could be wrong and there are a lot more ads for MWO out there.

Maybe once the new player experience is improved.

None of my friends stayed after the cadet bonus ended.

I am quoting a long time friend here who i tired to get into this game...into tanks and robutts and the like but after playing this game for a few nights he turned to me and said...

"do you really have fun playing this game?"

"yes, but i have been playing MechWarrior games all my life."

"ok....so when does the fun part start?"

He has never logged back in to this day....

There used to be some, I think it was IGP?

The ones who used the fan art without asking permission, I believe it was.

Word of mouth should have been the best advertisement they could get...I can't even give them that. I was talking this game up to anyone I knew who gamed before CW hit. I thought CW was gonna be the ish instead of just ish.

The game has been on a treadmill since opening Beta. The grand design of CW is terrible and not what they were selling it to be. Adding mechs is not content. To the poke'mech collector it is....for the gamer it is not. MWO is counter-strike with mechs but no real comp scene. Heck the Comp scene is the most compelling thing about this game so hopefully something comes of that.

They haven't done much to make me sing their praises and sell the game to people like I once did. I shake my head at the potential this game had. Hopefully they turn it around eventually but at the current pace I don't even think that will make a difference.

I don't even recall any advertising for the founder's or they'd have been at least $600 dollars further into developing this game.

-- or at least $600 further into developing MW Tactics lol.

I found out about the game early in open beta when i saw a sidebar ad on some gaming news site. It talked about being the "thinking man's shooter" and had the atlas face on it. I haven't seen an ad for it since.

I saw 1, the same 1 for a week. It was in utorrent and it was alternating with some stupid angel game.

NONE of my friends bother to play, they flat out say MWO sucks. The few who I could get to play out the cadet bonus were not very happy with me and to this day say MWO looks and plays like crap. I don't dare mention that awful disgrace they for some reason named community warfare.

I play less and less as time goes on and dont miss it at all. I am so glad I was not stupid and bought suckerpacks I mean mechpacks . It was not worth the $14.95 I spent but that was a visa gift card so I dont really care.

Back in the day I'd always have MWO ads pop up on Facebook. That was during late closed beta I think, and early Open Beta

I saw an article about MWO way back in PC Gamer.
They still have articles about MWO now and then.
I have not seen an actual advertisement anywhere though.

I saw a lot of ads on the browser game I play but not recently. It wouldn't be wise to pour tens of thousands of dollars in acquisition if you don't have a promo/event/hamsterwheel/skinnerbox thing to retain them long enough that the average revenue will exceed the cost of acquisition.

For those curious go read up on LTV/Cohorts and stuff like that.
