I will say this about SWOL, they are the most legit unit on the Galaxy map. I dont know any of them but only one match out of maybe 30 or so I played against them did they have any botters.

That they would be named in this I am very surprised at. Although again I dont know them at all. Straight up.

Again, I didn't exploit, I didn't even have to get creative, I just followed exactly what PGI said the fix was, the other 23 players in that match didn't.

Not particularly egotistical, I made no mention of actual skill beyond basic reading comprehension, perhaps above average google-fu. For that matter I never once even wore the stupid title until Muddy got his panties all twisted about it.

I literally put it on just for him.

Like I said the funny part that morning was that PGI posted both on the forums and Twitter how to get into the game after launch as you would drop and it would spit you back into the lab. You had to close the client and select the mech to rejoin, if you didn't you wouldn't get the rejoin button.

So I did. But I'm just a scummy exploiter he has been calling names for hours.

Well you don't have to imagine. In the community-run events area we (I) am hosting a tournament with a $500 grand prize. We need 32 more people to register before it can take place and registration ends Sept 30th, 2015. So you won't need to imagine it, because it is coming.

Exploitation like that depicted in the OP should be treated with the same severity as those people who use 3rd-party software to cheat.

People seem to be missing the forest for the trees. That one unit did this to the extreme to prove that this is possible isn't the point as much as how many are doing it just enough to get their rewards and flying completely under the radar.

This event is fatally flawed in the event scoring because of how CW match scores are calculated. PGI should yank the CW portion completely, fix the CW match score algorithm, eliminate any group drops from the CW results, or some other fix that would render stacked match scores invalid. But they have to do something.

People getting away with cheating and exploiting is absolutely and utterly toxic for a game. Absolutely, utterly and completely. It means that if you're not exploiting you'll never do as well as those who do.

It has to be dealt with harshly or the community goes nuts. If PGI is smart we'll get an announcement on Monday and the people involved get their leaderboard position, all rewards and any associated benefits (like the cbills they earned in those matches) stripped and a temporary ban.

My concern is that PGI will just write it off as too much trouble.
