There is always only 1 slot in the head.

Don't belittle a single slot energy point on the head, it can fit a 4 ton CERLL!
Unless you are an IS mech, then measly ML/MPL for you.

I thought since the BK is considered a Command mech, and the fact that in general it doesn't follow build rules of other mechs, the builders randomly added equipment like jump jets. A 2 slot energy so you can put a large laser wouldn't have been unrealistic.

I am excited to cram an xl380 in the 4th variant atleast.
perhaps the relatively thin torso will make up for the height.

I wish we had small cockpits, because then we could fit 2 critslots in the head...even have 2 head lasers, with each laser coming out of one eye.
But since our engine weights include cockpit weight, our mechlab makes alternate cockpits and gyros impossible.

Never random additions and the Black Knight certainly never broke any build rules (MW4:BK and MW4:Mercs Black Knight doesn't count because those games broke all kinds of build rules). No Black Knight variant with officially published record sheets has jump jets that I am aware of. Many 'Mechs were conceived as command 'Mechs. The Atlas, the Black Knight, the Mongoose, the Cyclops, and the Shootist. They also had other purposes.
Also jump jets can be retrofitted to any 'Mech in TT if you can find the weight and space. MWO just doesn't allow it to make certain chassis more unique and relevant than they would otherwise be.
