Ha!

Busted!

I was just browsing the Battletech Wiki, looking at mechs.. and I noticed that most of the CLAN mech that are in the game are originaly designed by Clan Smoke Jaguar.

Hat's off to your mech designing skills.

Since the Jaguars stayed out of the whole Wolf Vs. Jade Falcon thing.. it kind of makes me think about the reasons for their anihilation later in the BT timeline...

Here's a link to the Smoke Jaguar Mechs:
http://www.sarna.net...uar_BattleMechs

If ever there are any questions about which mechs the clans should get next, I humbly ask that some of the other clans's mech be considered also..

I nominate the following:

Clan Wolf: Woodsman
Clan Jade Falcon: Cougar, Wakazashi
Clan Ghost Bear: Kodiak

Linebacker would also be a great one, it's Clan Wolf.

And for Jade Falcon, gonna have to go with Black Lanner (it was awesome in MWLL)!

Ignore the faction tg, it changes weekly, buuut

Smoke Jags just claim most of the top iconic mechs at this point.

Every MW game has favored the jags. It makes sense considering they are the most ruthless of the crusaders, perhaps the only other clan as aggressive are the falcons

Woodsman is pretty much a pure energy boat. It only has minor missile options for variety. Also, canonically replaced by the Naga and the TBR, and obsolete. Night Gyr would be a better substitute.

Wakazashi and Kodiak are not omnimechs, so we'd need to wait for a garrison pack for the Kodiak. Furthermore, the Wakazashi is no longer produced by CJF, and has NO VARIANTS to boot.

Cougar is literally a refitted Adder with the hood torn off. Suffers from the same problems as the Adder and Kit Fox. 89.1 KPH on a light is interesting, but not particularly viable.

Linebacker is overexcited like the Gargoyle, with similar issues in its config. Offers nothing the Stormcrow doesn't already, and holy **** it's ugly as sin.

I love the Linebacker. It was actually one of the very first chassis I ever played online with in Mechwarrior 2: Mercenaries back in 1996. The second, actually. The first was an Atlas with I believe 12xLRM 10s on it. Hahahaha. I wanted to emulate Robotech™ and that it did. But... something about the Lineback was appealing so I ran it for a few days before I switched to a Stalker for an afternoon, then a Naga (to jump on top of buildings and lurm folks) before settling on a Gargoyle for a short while to learn how to lag shoot with lasers.

It may look like they favor Smoke Jaguar, but really they are just picking the more iconic and popular Clan mechs first.

Out of the current mechs they posted, I remember most of them from MechWarrior 2 and that game took place during the Refusal War (Wolf vs Jade Falcon).

Its not playing favorites to Smoke Jaguar, it's playing to the MechWarrior fans (IMO anyway).

Well, the Jags paint scheme is one of the better ones too. :)

In MWO, the Linebacker would have the same speed and pod space as an Adder...while being a 65 ton heavy. Ultimate lulz-mobile.

1) The Smoke Jaguars were the only clan to destroy an entire Inner Sphere city with an orbital bombardment. This is a clear violation of the Ares conventions (a body of law dictating how the Successor States conduct warfare).

2) The Smoke Jaguars were the only clan to attack a capital world. The Draconis Combine capital of Luthien was invaded by the Jags.

3) The Smoke Jaguars were the most aggressive crusader clan durning the first wave of the clan invasion. The Jade Falcons were no joke but they were not blowing up entire cities with warships.

As a Clan Blood Spirit fan, I eagerly await the Blood Kite--85 ton Clan Battlemech (no fixed equipments) with six missile slots. Cha-ching!

Actually they are the first Clan Mechs to enter the Universe. All the rest came after. Not in the time line but in actual introduction.

Actually, the Wolves TOOK a capital world before them ( Rasalhague ) which is what prompted them to attack Luthien.

To the OP: The Dire Wolf is a Clan Wolf design even though it was first fielded by the Jags (trial of possession for the schematics and all )
