stupidest ghost drop -- the counter-attack defense ghost drop WTF1?!

I am rather hoping that as the AI gets better, if there is a ghost drop we instead get AI opponents.
Would like to see the counter attack mode merged with the standard invasion mode and be triggered by an objective timer.
Fail to takeout the omega in a invasion and the attacking force gets no more drops.
The defenders can complete their drops.
If additional forces are needed to mop up, a new wave of players gets to enter the game and reinforce the defending side. Great opportunity to see a Union or Overlord dropship land and deploy the reinforcements.
Same thing on the other side of the coin.
Defenders fail to protect Omega.
They get no further drops.
Attackers can continue to drop and can be reinforced.
