So they took a map that never needed thermal/vision except in the crater and made it so you need it everywhere now...

So long as it has the current caldera NOT smack in the center, this should turn out really good. And by NOT center, I mean a grid or two from the edge, so it isn't the automatic homing beacon for pugs.

My hopes for new Caustic:
1) Make it HUGE
2) Make it so there's no Nascar or Center rush
3) Have plenty of rocks, slopes, buildings for cover and tight-space dogfighting like in River city
4) But also with plenty of open space for LRM-ing and sniping
5) Keep the acid lake as it is- its where many of us zellbringened our way to warrior status, and its dear to our hearts.
6) Add a more in-depth mining colony with more infrastructure, buildings for good dog-fighting.
7) Do not remove the green haze, but make it "thinner" by about 30%
8) Add some hills like on alpine right now, but not too high to prevent "central hill rush" that now happens on alpine..
9) If your're gonna keep the caldera, make it greatly off center of the map.
10) Let us have Dynamic time of day, but DO NOT make it shift every 15 minutes.. that is the most annoying feature of River and Forest maps.. Instead, make us drop on one of the 4 times of day, but DO NOT change them during the game..

I had suggested this in the past, but it didn't seem to garner that much attention.
Even tried contacting Russ about it, but he always ignores me.
