Serious here.
What I want to know is: why the heck can't Clan Autocannons UAC and Standard just fire only one shell in the same fashion as their Inner Sphere counterparts?
If the UAC/5 fires 1 shot, then two per volley, then the Clans should do the same thing. Clan Standards should have the same principle as the Inner Sphere versions. I'm tired of loading up seven tons of ammo to just fire one weapon system. 14 if I'm using two of the same weapon, like C-UAC/5's. I mean, it doesn't make sense to me. I get it. . . Clan Weapons are superior to the Inner Sphere weapons, but seriously, give this some thought PGI. Please!

I agree as it seems that Clan UA/Cs waste ammo compared to IS A/Cs & Gauss Rifle.

Balance probably, because C-ACs weight less and take up less Space,
but all things considered i would like to to see C-ACs(Standard) Fire Slugs,
give them 1 shot, double Dropoff, and half range and lets call it a day,

Burst-fire was a mechanic intended to prevent Clan UACs from being direct upgrades to IS ACs, because they're lighter, smaller, and can double-tap (only IS UAC/5 can DT as well).
Even then, I think that the Clan UACs are favored in some cases. I think that the Ultra 10 > IS AC/10, and the UAC/2 is indisputably a direct upgrade over the IS AC/2 (but both are still poopy). I think the UAC/5 is about even for both factions. UAC/20 vs AC/20 is hard to judge, seems to be situational. Perhaps small edge to IS for the class 20 ACs.
On a side note, why are you equipping so much ammo? For example, you mentioned 14 tons of ammo for 2 CUAC/5? That's crazy, you shouldn't be using any more than 6 tons in that case. Each one ton of Clan UAC/5 ammo lets you fire a total of 30 salvos/bursts/shots (with each "shot" requiring 2 bullets).

I don't see OP‘s point. Their damage per ton is the same: C-uac5 has 60 shots per ton where IS uac5 has 30.
Giving clan better weapon like table top? That discussion has been done a lot of times, and answer is no unless you want to lose every IS player.

As others have said it is a balance issue and also plays into the whole idea of clan weapons requiring more exposure time to do their damage (the exception being the PPC).
