Someone may have asked this before, but I was wondering what peoples opinions are about which Mech is the most versatile. I always liked the Phoenix Hawk, Good mobility, decent armor and firepower with the right modifications. What do you think?

Atlas. Stick 4 of them together with LAMS and they're unstoppable.

If you mean which mech has a good combination of,

Armor
Speed
Short range weapons
Medium range weapons
Long range weapons
Jump Jets

By the nature of the game there is no mech that achieves all of that in a nice package. The Highlander, Quickdraw, Grasshopper, Dervish, and a few others manage to come close though I think.

Jenner Laser Boats with jump jets FTW, and of course AIM and maybe ECM.

versatility in a single mech is hard to accomplish. That phoenix hawk you mentioned for example had terrible rear armor in TT.

A better thing to think about is a mech that can fill 2-3 roles well.

Grasshopper anti scout, flanker, fast heavy
Stalker, long range support, siege mech, brawler
Centurion mid range brawler, long range support
Jenner scout, skirmisher/flanker

Some mechs though only have 1 real role in their standard setup
Hunchback brawler
Catapult long range support
Trebuchet long range support
